Booking for 2008

I have been looking at prices etc for first 2 weeks in March, and it seems to me that it costs less by booking a package through an operator such as Thomas Cook rather than booking flights and hotels seperately.

Having had a quick look - 14 nights for 2 ppl, staying in Hotel Osbourne, works out at £1100.00 - this includes B&B and an extra baggage allowance - not bad for Thomas cook.

Its working out to about £3k for us though as we want to take our 3 kids which 2 of are classed as adults on the flights, and because i cant find anywhere that sleeps 5 people (other than booking seperately) it means we need 2 rooms.

Hi papa - it's the Sunset Beach Resort in Candolim, I think now it will be the only place I will go to (can't get much closer to the sea !).
Alan, are you changing your mind about coming again next year ? Sunbeds are booked also, along with an extra supply of King's !!
Kells - the brochure price for last year was above what we have paid for 2008 so hate to think what they will be this time around. Why not have a look at the Magnum hotel in Candolim, they have a few family apartment style rooms that should fit you all in with room to spare, swimming pool and decent restaurant, I think they are still with Manos ?

Hi Spike glad you got sorted for next year. Sorry we didnt get to say goodbye didnt realise you were leaving a couple of days before us. Is your flight with the dreaded Monarch or did you manage to get a different company? Paul and Anne

With Monarch again, I know we had a 3 hour delay going out (but most airlines have some sort of hic-up).
I know there is a lot of moaning about Monarch, cramped seats etc.. but we have got used to this and the flight time seems to go quickly.
Have also been told we are flying direct,so no stop at Bahrain. Flight times are perfect for us (barring no delays we should have a good half day on the Saturday we land)

Hi Alan - had a look in JJ'S for you but all rooms were full so couldn't show us around one. Spoke to a bloke sat in the communal area having a beer - he says he has been 9 times now and had 3 different apartments with no problems. Had a look at the website also, and yeah - it seems pretty good. The guy who owns the Sunset, also owns Pretty Petals.
Hows the suit you bought ? you must look a right bobby dazzler up that neck of the woods !! (don't forget the pics of the 'mad' wedding you are off to).
Me tomorrow at 4.45pm

We have booked for Feb 23 2008 for three weeks all inclusive at the Santiago in Baga (again) for an unbelievable £915 each. This is with Airtours and flying with Mytravel, non stop thankfully from Gatwick.
I booked this holiday with Thomsons Direct. Airtours could not beat the Thomsons deal on their own holiday.

This year we paid £980 each, so what has happened to all these tax rises - never mind we are happy with that.

Now to find a cheapy for November

Hi Spike, glad you got booked for next year and a good price too. I'm going to have a look at booking the flight and hotel separately. Been having computer problems so haven't been able to access the net but now I'm up and running, I'll check out prices for next year. So Alan (Billy Bluenose) are you definitely booking again for 2008? Hope to see you at Ganesh's shack sometime in the future.
