Anyone come up with decent flights / prices for 2008 ?
As usual with work commitments we have to go on a certain date so can't pick and choose or sit around like others waiting for cheepies to come along.
Flying out for last week in March and 1st in April the best price I have had is £444pp inclusive of all taxes, so only £24 more than we have just paid. So no messing about it's booked !!
This is with Travelpack flying from Manchester. The other quotes I had were with Take flight @ £469pp, Charter flights.com @ £526.
Cost of hotel is £250 for 2 weeks so in total £1,188.
So with a great hotel 3 mins from the beach with aircon/fridge/tv/safe/breakfast all included in the price, a couple of happy chappies now waiting for the next 11 months to fly round !!
Having had a quick look - 14 nights for 2 ppl, staying in Hotel Osbourne, works out at £1100.00 - this includes B&B and an extra baggage allowance - not bad for Thomas cook.
Its working out to about £3k for us though as we want to take our 3 kids which 2 of are classed as adults on the flights, and because i cant find anywhere that sleeps 5 people (other than booking seperately) it means we need 2 rooms.
/bah!
Well done Spike, positive as ever, and I trust the sun bed is also booked
Hi Kells & Paul. Keep looking There's a bargain out there somewhere. Glad you joined up and that you are finding the Forum informative. Just waiting for Lynn A to make an appearance she didn't seem that shy . Will PM or Email.
Come on spike, spill the beans.Where's this great hotel 3 mins from the beach?
Alan, are you changing your mind about coming again next year ? Sunbeds are booked also, along with an extra supply of King's !!
Kells - the brochure price for last year was above what we have paid for 2008 so hate to think what they will be this time around. Why not have a look at the Magnum hotel in Candolim, they have a few family apartment style rooms that should fit you all in with room to spare, swimming pool and decent restaurant, I think they are still with Manos ?
Hi Spike glad you got sorted for next year. Sorry we didnt get to say goodbye didnt realise you were leaving a couple of days before us. Is your flight with the dreaded Monarch or did you manage to get a different company? Paul and Anne
I know there is a lot of moaning about Monarch, cramped seats etc.. but we have got used to this and the flight time seems to go quickly.
Have also been told we are flying direct,so no stop at Bahrain. Flight times are perfect for us (barring no delays we should have a good half day on the Saturday we land)
Spike.
Onto another matter.... must win for LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS tomorrow
Hows the suit you bought ? you must look a right bobby dazzler up that neck of the woods !! (don't forget the pics of the 'mad' wedding you are off to).
Me tomorrow at 4.45pm
i too had a look at both guest houses and they look sound. Just waiting on prices coming back. The suit is lookin good. I will get to wear it next week to a Sportsmans dinner im attending. That wedding will be a belter Hope yours is just as good
Will take a look at that spike - cheers ears!
I booked this holiday with Thomsons Direct. Airtours could not beat the Thomsons deal on their own holiday.
This year we paid £980 each, so what has happened to all these tax rises - never mind we are happy with that.
Now to find a cheapy for November
Gail
Hi kells343 - checked price for Osborne today, and 2 people for 2 weeks start of March 08 is £920 with extra baggage allowance with Thomas Cook.
Alan
I booked logoa azul a month ago £910 for 3 weeks with first choice,it is now £50 pound cheaper ,mind the times i wanted have all gone
Had appartment booked for months, March-April 2008 struggling to get a flight via Mumbai, rough quotes for flights are £740-£820 return Heathrow for 2 Virgin, B.A & Jet
