This is just my personal view, sorry if offends others, but Gumbet is not really our cup of tea, we are more or less the same age as you and when we were there it seemed to more or less geared up for the younger generation, however it was probably 10 years ago, and so it may well have changed.

Personally, I think Gumbet is aimed at the younger market, think Kavos, San Antonia, Las Amercias, Napa, Malia ECT.

Olu Deniz is beautiful.

i agree with last 2 posts, ive been to a lot of places in turkey and gumbet wasnt one of my favourites, like kim said olu deniz is lovely

I have to agree, dont think Gumbet will be your cup of tea. We went a few years ago found it noisy, mostly British food, now thats ok if thats what you like but we prefer to try the local cusiene.
Wouls recomend Olu it is beautiful, you have the best of both worlds there, up the hill to Hisaronu, down the hill Fethiye or across on the water taxi to Chalis to name but a few days out.

The Laggon is really nice, make sure you take a walk down to it, dont just settle for the nearest spot on the beach you will miss out if you do as the town beach not as nice, although it is surrounded by the Baba Dag mountains, breath taking. have a great time

hi, gumbet is not for the fainthearted it is geared up for the -30 generation, with loud music coming out of all the bars every eveing, during the day its like a ghost town because everyone is sleeping off the night before so you can imagine what it would be like around the hotels in the afternoon, if you want a quite, relaxing holiday try the little bay of bitez we have and love it,
it will be our 4th visit this year to bitez
