yes thats about right, between 1.40---1.43ish,we have never paid commision on any money changed on ibiza.
can't comment on ibiza but we were over in the canaries last weekend and they were only offering 1.38, for a change better rates at home!
Try Marks & Spencers for Euros, they normally beat high street travel agents exchange (a lot of travel agents have a minimum amount of Euros you can purchase to get a decent rate)
Isn't the point of the Euro that it is worth the same in all the Euro countries?
one bank will sell you 1.4 euros for every pound, the bank next door may sell you 1.41 euros for every pound or they may waive commission but have a lesser "rate"
a currency exchange outlet will (generally) offer you less euros than a bank, m&s may better a bank, etc etc - a bank here may give you more euros to the pound than one in the uk - but thats the whole point of currency exchange and has been for donkeys years - you never know whether you'll get a batter rate in the uk than your destination
i dont know anyone elses experience but if youre in a captive market - ie the airport you'll generally get the worst rate since you have no choice...
sometimes an outlet will buy back unused currency at the same rate they sold you for example...
the rate now is very poor,in jan/feb it was 145.in benidorm i got loads for 150.yes 150.all depands where your staying as well.in san an the rate can be 1% less than pdb.i have allways found.cala longa and es cana. to be the better rate.
i am going to really get a few nights out free.i knew i was going to go to ibiza in may.so when i went to benidorm twice.i changed a lot.
some people don;t care what the rate is.but if you have can afford to lose out.then fair play..i am a tight a??.i have even gone to es cana for the day.and changed a lot of money, then come back to playa den bossa and sold it on.mainlly to the older people i know.2/3 euros more to them is a cup of tea or a pint.
all part of the service i provide free of charge when i go away.i dont like to see people begin rip off.
like changing money in the hotels?.worst thing you can do.this is only if your taking cash ok.get a nationwide flexi card.very good rate and safe to use.
not long now hope it is going to be warm as we have got use to the temp her at home.
Got mine open ready lol
i tell you its the best thing i did a few years ago.ok you dont get any interest on it.bit say you only going to spend £1000 put that in the card.and make sure you know what you have taken out.avery safe way and no charge plus very good rates of the day.what you dont spend you could use it in uk,but keep some in to keep it open...
