Hi, everybody. I'm very keen to book a holiday to Menorca,. I have 3 children aged 6, 4 and 4 months old. Hopefully I won't need their services, but if anything should happen my children is there a hospital near any of the resorts, and are the facilities good?
Thanking you all in anticipation.
Where are you staying? There are enough hospitals and clinics in Menorca to enable you to feel comfortable. Health care in Menorca is very good - my friends daughter lives there.
Thanks Glynis. I haven't booked anywhere yet. We're planning on going the first week of July so we'd better get our skates on! My husband is just paranoid about anything happening to our kids and not being able to get to a hospital, then medical staff not understanding what's wrong and not giving correct treatment. Yet I come from a country (Ireland) where health care is shocking and my nearest paediatric hospital is 20 miles away- what a hypocrite I am!!!!
I have been to the hospital in cuitadella and it is built like a hotel probably 4*, huge marble stair cases, spotlessly clean.
There are Hospitals at either end of the Island and Surgeries in the other main towns. Here in Mahon there is a beautiful new Hospital with every facility.opening later this month.
There will almost certainly be someone on duty who speaks english.(my Spanish GP speaks english better than me !) The Red Cross are also very helpful.
Its such a small tsland you are only minutes away from any where
Thank you all very much, I'll definitely be going there then!
As it happens, I just booked to go to Cala n Bosch in mid July. Really looking forward to it. Hopefully won't require health services!
