I haven't been for many years but as far as I am aware there aren't any markets in Protaras. Infact the Cypriots aren't big on markets at all.

Probably the nearest is Larnaca Market. Can't say how good it is, but there's a bus that takes you there - I think its on Sundays. Think its a fiver return.

there is now a Saturday market at Liopetri nearer to Protaras dont think the buses take you there yet i will have look in June.

Also at Ayia Thekla past the water park there is a small market 2 days a week but the biggest is Larnaca although the Liopetri one is getting better from what I hear. I think its Wednesday and Friday for Ayia Thekla but from what i hear its only a few stalls,

Thought the Lanarca one was on Sunday. We went 3/4 years back and covered it in about 15 mins.

Problem was then waiting for the bus back. And it broke down. Think of the lost drinking time!

We do like to have a wander round them, but in my opinion the bargain days are long gone.

I thought the Vrisaki was near the Kapparis roundabout, but it says it's in Ayia Napa.

Larnaca market may soon change to Saturdays.
Something to do with an EU ruling.

And I agree with fwh, 15 minutes just about does it for us, too, although it can turn up a few interesting items to bring home in your suitcase.......like a refurbished sewing machine.
