On our trips to Thassos we have caught the bus to Keramoti port and then the ferry to Thassos Town. The ferry runs from Keramoti and Kavala harbours at different times. The distance is only about 6 miles and the trip is very quick. When we have spent a day in Kavala during the holidays, we caught the boat to Kavala itself. Well worth the visit, especially to see the Fort.
I can't remember whether we carried our luggage or not but someone else may have a better memory than mine.

We went to Thassos last year and had a wonderful time.

Your luggage is put on to the coach at the airport for the short journey to Keramoti harbour and you don't see it again until you arrive at your accommodation

The coach goes on the ferry with you and your luggage

The ferry crossing is very enjoyable sitting enjoying the view as you approach Thassos and is a nice change from sitting sitting on a coach all the way.

On arriving on Thassos you re-board the same coach and it delivers you and your luggage to your destination.

Thanks Richard for the info that is a huge relief as I was dreading having to drag my case and be careful of my foot at the same time!
It sounds a lovely way to start your holiday (for me anyway OH doesn't like boats )
We'll be there 4 weeks today I can't wait.
