my mother buys her birthday cakes in karens bakery i think its in beldibi,1 mile outside marmaris, birthday cakes arent easy to find but places like tansas do wonderful big cakes. if you dont mind a 15 min taxi drive there is the most beautiful restaurant just outside of marmaris, fab place, good quality food and good prices, its called cinar and has little streams and ponds running through the gardens its so quaint we go there everytime we visit, highly recommended for somewhere lovely & unusual

We have been to Turkey twice while it was my dh's birthday. I have asked a local restaurant to provide a birthday cake and it was never a problem.

They usually charge about £8 - £10 I think. Oh and the cakes both times were DELICIOUS!!!

red, its on the road out of marmaris towards the airport about 15 mins, taxi should know where it is as its quite famous and i know sometimes coach parties do go, although when ive been there we didnt see any, ill find out more info on prices from my mother as she lives in marmaris, but its cheap, they have tables inside and outside, mainly turkish cuisine they do lovely kebabs ,casseroles etc, the setting is so pretty, they even have ducks on the little ponds scattered around the restaurant, lots of little streams running around your tables such a cute place

Hi Ellie meg, the restaurant you mentioned sounds lovely.do you think it would be suitable for a 11 year olds birthday and is it safe to take a 3 year old there with all that water and do you get lots of mozzies around the ponds. Thanks mickyjo.x

ive never had mozzie probs whilst we have been there and i take my little girl shes been going since she was 4, the little streams are very shallow but gently flowing and about 1 inch deep and you can step over them, im sure the few ponds have small fences around them, think it just depends on your child ellie doesnt wander off or run around much and shes always been fine she loves to feed the ducks. they quite often have an old lady making lavash (hot flat bread) very nice
