Has anyone got any names and where best place to go, been marmaris 6 times, always said will go to one never have. It such a waste that i never been to one.
thanks
Try Sofra, the one behind Gima one small block from the beach. It is just a small place but typically Turkish and the Ayran is delicious. We were first taken there a few years ago by some Turkish friends.
We always eat there when in Icmeler.
http://www.turkuaz-guide.net/cinar/index.htm . You can eat inside or outside there's spring fed streams and fountains, ducks and fish. It is about 20 minutes out of Marmaris is it's well known by Turkish locals so fairly easy to get to. We also just wonder the back streets in Marmaris and just pop in any restaurant where we see locals eating and point to the food on display, so cheap and always good and we have always been made welcome, the first time you tend to feel a little intimidated but just go for it.Sorry to go on but another good one is Liman in the bazaar the shop keepers use this one just say you would like to try the turkish food and they take you to see the food in the kitchen. Afiet olson ( not spelt correctly but it should mean the same as bon appetite)
I shouldn't tell you about this place, we wanted to keep it to ourselves, but can't help myself it's so good . Its called cinar (pronounced chinar) we have visited it with Turkish friends every time we are in Turkey, usually in the evening but a couple of weeks ago we went for breakfast, we ate so much that we felt full all day . If you use the following link scroll to the bottom of the page to see the restaurant, There is a street opposite Tansa's supermarket if you walk down there past a pizza resturant you will come to a shop which resembles a home bakery, they serve delicious pies all different flavours, we found a lot of local people used there, and very reasonable too.
wgipk.
we also go to cinar every time we go to marmaris area and love it, we spent new years day 06 in there with all the fires burning etc it was lovely, food is always lovely and excellent price
We now feel that it is getting too commercialised and is now full of tourists and the Turkish peole are staying away in droves because of this and the high prices that are now being charged to tourists.
We have now found a new place with excellent food and ambiance for our guests and at affordable prices
John
In marmaris try the yigit restaurant opposite the pearl roundabout. its the cheapest place in Mugla, all the workers go there.
