Having just found some great cheap flights for new year I would be gratefull if anyone could tell me in their opinion which is the best area in Peurto Rico to stay, either down by the beach and marina or up by the europa centre and if so could recomend any apartments or hotels.
many thanks
mark
i personally would not stay by the Europa, its a long way to the centre at the bottom and to the beach etc, i think more is going on by the beach.. we stayed towards the waterpark at the back and i think that location was ideal..
We are booked in the riosol for Oct and have stayed there before you can book on there site http://www.riosolaparthotel.com its a nice complex walking distance to the europa.
We like the europa as our fav bar extreeeemz is there and our fav restaurants aswell so we wouldnt stay anywhere else.
You can walk to amadores beach from there and it is a nice walk and a lovely beach, we then sometimes take the costal walk along to the bottom beach aswell (with 2 small kids) and taxi back up, taxis are cheap enough i think around 3euros to the bottom from the top.
Yes the bottom centre is bigger but we have all we need at the top and just go to the bottom the odd time.
You also have crazygolf at the top aswell.
I have also stayed in Eden which thomsons do as accom only, they were ok and i would use again but riosol was nicer.
Colina Mar is meant to be nice they are top also and do direct bookings just google it never stayed there thou.
Have a great hol any questions just ask!
Vicky

Where ever you stay in P R apart from the very bottom level there are hundreds of steps and hills.
We stayed at the Florida apts, very basic but on the flat and just across the road from the main centre a flat walk to the beach , by the taxis.
I can't be doing with hills and steps after a night out.

There are some nice apts right by the beach, El greco also the Balcon
Be care were you book, you can be a long way out away from every thing.

We went to PR over 13 years ago for our honeymoon and loved it.
however this time we have 2 children who will be 11 and 5 if we decide to go again in Oct this year.
Does Puerto Rico have plenty for kids to do ?
We normally do Majorca which has go karts, little rides etc but fancy somewhere different just for a week.
Still need somewhere that has things for kids to do.
if not could anyone recommend the best place to stay in PR
thanks
Wendy
I think they are great for families and that area up to top by europa is best place for families, i wouldnt stay down the bottom.
They have a mini golf up there, trampolines in the europa , bungee trampolines aswell.
Family friendly bars and restaurants (but they are everywhere in PR)
The riosol has its own kids clubs (not used it yet) playground and the 2 pools and entertainment.
I awlays find it cheaper to book direct, seperate flights and pre book a taxi.
Vicky
Will defo look at booking seperately but tried to price up for next year and some airlines are charging us adult price for our son who will be 12!!!
Will wait a little longer for the flights but the riosol looks ideal for us.
Thanks
We are flying back with BA and they do child prices and are worth looking at as the more in advance you book the cheaper they are we got a brilliant price with them.
We would have flown out BA aswell but we are flying out to Lanzarote for a week first then flying over to GC from there and the Lanza times werent good for us but check them out.
Vicky we have not booked our taxis yet -so would be grateful if you could recomend your taxi company so I can have a look myself.
if you go to
http://www.canaryforum.com
click forums then in the top right corner a pic of a car will be there fill in details and it will give you a quote then ask if you want to book, you pay when they collect you at the airport.
Excellent service i have used 2x and booked again for october.
They are waiting in airport when you arrive, help with luggage, collect you at time you request for return and have car seats if you need them.
Where did you decide to stay in the end?
Vicky
We are staying at the Risol in a 2 bed apartment they look quite nice and are getting refurbished at the moment and the reviews seem good to.
They were ok when we went there a few years ago thou bathrooms a bit dated.
Lucky you 2 bed apart i tried to get one for oct and they are fully booked

Have a great time
Vicky
