You can expect to pay roughly the same in Bangalore/Mangalore as you would in Goa and a bit more in the cosmopolitan areas, depends on if you come across as an easy picking tourist. But if you are generally talking budget travel then it's a lot cheaper than Goa. 200Rps for a haircut???.....cross a nought off, even the Maligri Hotel in Hospet (Hampi) is cheaper than the beach shacks in Goa to eat and drink. And then again there is the case of supply and demand. I once paid 60rps for a double room and 80Rps for a beer.....Oh! well when needs must.
