We usually budget about £100 (sterling) a day for the two of us, don't consider that to be too expensive to be honest. If we were in the UK eating out all the time and drinking every night we would easily blow that.
Thanks for the financial guidance, it'll help us to budget accordingly.Over the years we always used to reckon on about £500 a week for the two of us - which works out a little more than £70 a day,( we go self catering, but eat a "proper" meal out each evening and we're not big drinkers. We don't penny-pinch or economise that much, we just spend as much as we need to enjoy our holiday.) Last year we expected it to be more expensive and it was; reckon we spent about £80-£85 a day.It helps to have a rough guide. Thanks
were here at the moment, most restaurants have set menus, we have breakfast in every day, a light snack at lunch time and a meal at night, their is a real difference for the same drinks in difference bars
How did you manage to spend 100 euros a day? We had breakefast every morning. For lunch we took a sandwich down to the beach which we made ourselves from food bought at the supermarket, (kept this in a cool bag). For evening meal we went to a restaurants of our choice did not eat from the set menus but choose food from the normal menu, had wine with our meal, did not scrimp. Later we had a drink at a bar (chose drinks very carefully). Did not use coach transfer to and from airport but booked our own taxi (got friendly with taxi driver over the years). We still came home with money to spare from our 1200 euro budget.
we spent 1440 euros, ad a couple of breakfasts out and probably eat out 8 lunch times and every night, a round of drinks in the sphinx bar cost 10 euros, our cheapest meal was 29 euros and most expensive 63, but most were 40 ish
how did you manage to spend 100 euros a day.... "a drink at the bar".... only one?... ah you see that might be where we go through a few more euros...
we had plenty of drink e e
When I say "a drink at the bar" I'm talking in general terms. Obviously we had more than one. We were drinking local beer (Keo) at 2 euros a pint. Cocktails at 3 euros (any cocktail). If you fancy Guinness then we found a place doing it for 1.75 euros a pint! So we probably saved by being a bit more selective, but we had our fair share of drink.
we had a drink in the square bar one night and it was terrible, we had a sip and left it, you couldnt taste the difference between keo or carlsberg, and the barman was ignorant, also the beer was warm in the greenery, we stayed most nights for a beer in las pas at the bottom of the strip, very friendly owner
Found the cocktails in the Cheers bar were very poor, watered down. We have spent a few "pennies" in the Lad Pas over the years. I believe the owners name is Adam.
nice chap, looking at next year getting capo bay with monarch for 1761 on 11 th september, or brilliant for 1450ish same dates, not sure if were going longhaul yet
