Those regular visitors to Puerto Pollensa who remember Miguel's Tots restaurant, great quality Menu Del Dia at a bargain price, queues right down the street, will be pleased to know there is an alternative. I'm normally reluctant to recommend restaurants in Mallorca as the quality and service can vary widely from one visit to the next, however over the past 3 years we have been eating regularly in C'An Torrens, at the back of the square and to the left of the church, and found it the equal of the old Tots.
Menu Del Dia 13 Euros pp for a 3 course, including a 1/2 bottle of decent wine, water, bread and olives.
Recommended without hesitation.
Many thanks Pollensa
I am sure we visited the original tots when we went there in 1984, there was allways a queue to get in,would this be the same place?
Tots 1984... might be the same restaurant, in the lane behind the main roundabout at the marina, but probably not the same owner, Miguel. I think he took control in the 90's. He sold out around 5 or 6 years ago and the new owners subsequently failed and sold on. It's now split into two separate businesses, neither of which offer the kind of deal that Miguel did, and now C'An Torrens.
No sooner recommended than it has closed. It has changed hands and is now a drinking/snacks bar. On our recent visit we did not find a worthy replacement.
