I remember going there a few years ago this time of year and it was really quiet. This time we are going in half term feb 14th and are staying in the eden apts near the europa. Will it be the same then or will it be a little busier with it being half term. Also what kind of weather can we expect will we be able to get our cossies on.
Thanks Diane.
weather wise at the mo is warm during the day but maybe worth taking a fleece or like for the evenings but you havent got far to stumble back from teh Europa to the Eden or even from teh taxi rank if you go down to teh centro commercial down the bottom
Yes you will be able to catch plenty of rays - its about 26C in the day now - take jacket for evenings. Can get very busy in the main shopping centre of PC during school hols if that's want you want! Suggest you hire a car and AVOID the taxi queues in PC which can be very long during these times.
Going in march - staying at nido del aguila for a week, we both love live music particularly irish traditional - any suggestions?
Any suggestions for particularly lovely places to eat as will be on our honeymoon!

Hi Guys, Im heading to Puerto Rico the last week in May and I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me anything about the place. After I had it booked I heard it was quiet, no night-life etc which is very very worrying. Was in Playa de LIngles but didnt like it at all, visited Ayin apa last year and had a ball so looking for something like that???
We went to Playa del ingles any couple of yrs ago,i didn't like it either too much walking about using up my drinking time!!!!,Before that we stopped in Puerto Rico,We're going back in 5wks time and this will be our 6th visit to PR in 3yrs,
PR is a bit hilly, but just think theres a drink waiting at the other end.
PDI isn't a patch on PR,I think it must be that it's aimed more for the british visitors and you'll feel right at home, plenty of bars, shops, fastfood and restaurants, what more do you need oh can't forget the gorgeous beach
There are 2 commercial centres rather than all those in PDI,(i find the one at the bottom of the hill much better),and (Europa)the one at the top.
I hpoe this is of some reassurance.
Anyway hope you enjoy your holiday
Remember it's not where you are,it's who your with that make your holiday
We went to Puerto Rico last year, thought it was really good. We were a short stroll away from the Europa Centre, which is the smaller one, which has plenty of bars and restaurants in there. We didnt go to the other Commercial centre but we did go past there on a trip out to Sioux City the one night, looked really busy like the other one. You'll enjoy it im sure!
The Commercial centre in the middle of the main valley has numerous bars and restaurants.
A word of warning - some of the appartments are quite a good walk uphill from the commercial centre - I think our walk was 170 steps, so it would be a good idea to stock up on water and beer, so that you are not making repeat trips.
Have been twice before, which apartments would anyone recommend.
stayed at the puerto plata apartments about 6 years ago - pretty good location about ½ way up hill on way to euro centre
We have stayed 3 times at the Puerto Azul (last time May04) and found them lovely. We stayed half board and found the food very good. It is a bit of a trek down to the beach and the commercial centre but the taxis are so cheap it wasnt really a problem. I liked the fact you got a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 rather than just a studio apartment. If you stay there request an apartment in blocks 1 or 2 (over looking the beach) and on floors 4 - 6. The higher the better.
We were in Puerto Rico in January, and stayed in the Marina Suites booked with eclipse. These are a new build and very smart. They are next to the marina hence the name and are quiet at night . But it is only a 5 min walk to where the night life starts. Also the El Greco, I think with first choice or eclipse also reads very well. But the Marina suites are clean, classy, have great views and a really nice infinity pool.
Would definitely suggest you stay somewhere else as I did not enjoy my week's holiday in these apartments.
Put there is plenty to keep you going in PR plus I think the drink was a bit cheaper than PDI
I got back from puerto Rico yesterday and it was one of the best holidays ive had. the night life was really good! There are only a couple of night clubs which are open till 7am every morning. However there are loads of bars to choose from which are all open till around 4am. I recommend Linekars, Snoopys and Harleys! Its happy hour nearly all night in most bars, so 2 drinks for the price of 1!
I'm off to Puerto Rico this saturday, staying at Guanabara Park apartments. This will be my first ever time to Gran Canaria. Does anyone know what these apartments are like?
Also any idea what the temp will be next week in Puerto Rico?
Is there much to do in the day time in puerto rico - eg watersports, boat trips, camel rides?
What's the nightlife like in March, is the resort quiet/busy?
