Hello
Wonder if anyone can recommend a quiet caravan park in the Northern Lake District (preferably) in October.
Have been searching Hoseasons and usual Tourist Information brochures and can't really decide.
We are a party of three and would like good accommodation.
Thanks
Kirrent
I think Hoseasons do some lodges on Bassenthwaite Lake. It's a great spot....very quiet and peaceful but only about 5 miles from Keswick and 10 from Cockermouth. I used to have a caravan on there a few years ago so pm if you want any further info.
Thanks for that. The Bassentwaite site does look fab, and we have looked at it before, but it is sooo expensive. We first of all looked to go in the school summer hols and it was about £900 for a lodge large enough to take my parents also.
We are tied to the October holidays but everything seems to be extortionate. Greedy tour operators/park owners!!!

Take a look at wheatsheafinnlorton.co.uk - phone is 01900 85199.
The area around Loweswater/Crummock and up to Lorton is beautiful.
There are also some small letting units at cottagesmadefortwo.co.uk at Gilcrux - about 5 miles from Cockermouth.
Hope you get sorted out.
Thanks Roma
