If it's the latter, there is probably a small section in their Terms and Conditions that states they will charge an admin fee for cancelling.
If not, they will more than likely need it in writing from you, have you done this already?
All of the suppliers that we use have been cancelling bookings for clients free of charge, and we have been giving clients every penny back, however thats not to say that Qwerty will.
thankyou for replying to my question, they say they are willing to cancel the rest of holiday. last week they told me it had been done and the funds would be in my bank for weekend when I checked nothing was there i called qwerty yesterday, to ask why and was told it hadn't been cancelled at all, when I complained about bein lied to girl said she would get manager to call me today, no phone call so I called them office is closed on a sunday. they just seem to be fobbing me off everytime I call them
Why did they have to offer you new flights? Weren't they paid for by Goldtrail? Did Qwerty put together a package for you ie bought the flights from Goldtrail then separate accommodation? If the full package was arranged through Qwerty with Goldtrail then surely the accommodation is in jeopardy also?
You need to know what part of your holiday was actually connected through Goldtrail.
yes 4 weeks is a long time to be waiting,I'm stressed to the eyeballs, only the flights were booked for goldtrail, accomodation was booked thru you travel and transfers are a2b.I have been reading other peoples experiences about being charged cancellation fees, we also are bein charged £60 for that service, but i don't really care about that I just want our money back so we can book a holiday for next year, but it wont be thru qwert travel
This is where I'm worried regarding your problem Marybob. The accommodation providers may say that it's not their fault regarding your flights Where was it you were flying to/from & what dates maybe we can find you an alternative flight whereby you could still keep your holiday?
we were flying from manchester to bodrum, to be quite honest we are just fed up with the whole thing now. qwerty only took 4 days to call us with alternative flights at a new cost of £700 for 2, which my sister couldnt afford as she was on a tight budget anyway. It was qwerty that gave us the option of cancelling the holiday and giving us a refund for the accommodation and transfers, and now I can't get a straight answer from anyone, why do some travel agents do this, it's so annoying. It's the first time I have been thru this and I have travelled alot over the years with various companies, and never encountered anything like it before
Sorry, forgot to add in dates, they were for 3rd sep to 17th sep
I'm not English so sorry if i don't write very well.
I have the same problems as you Marybob with the same agence. I had to go to Kusadasi in Turkey with 2 friends in august. Three weeks before we go, qwerty travel sent us an e-mail speaking about the collapse of goldtrail. They wanted us to pay 700£ more for new flights. We said no, it was too expensive for us and a scam since the original flights were around 300£.
So they proposed us by e-mail to be refunded for hotel + transfert within 7 to 14 days. It was 1.5 month ago and still no money on my account, no news. They said the CAA will refund us for the flight. We sent the claim to the CAA and know it will take a long time.
We sent a lot of e-mail to be advised but they (qwerty) never answer.
They don't answer to the phone.
We don't know what to do.
I'm beginning to thing that they will keep our money.
What about you Marybob, have you been refunded ??!!!
Regards,
Fredo
Have you considered contacting the Union Fédérale des Consommateurs in the town where you live Fredo?
I did not, but i thank you for the idea. We are going to meet UFC and see what they can do for us.
Hi fredo, sorry to hear you are having the same problem as me. I managed to get my money back just over a week ago, but it took numerous phone calls and 1 letter (recorded delivery) threatening legal action. I was so angry and stressed at the way we were being treated by this company. I did demand to speak to the manager, but that didn't really help, she was a bit rude, I think it was the letter I sent that did the trick, so try that it might help, GOOD LUCK!
Good new today, we have been refunded by qwerty travel !
Thank you for your advise Marybob, they quickly phoned us after an email from me saying i was going to the police if they did not answer or refund.
I will never travel with them again. They are cheap but if there is a problem they "disappear" !
And when they answer they are not polite and say things they don't do.
Good luck to all the persons still concerned.
Best regards,
Fredo
So, two satisfactory outcomes, thanks for reporting back and better luck next time
Hi fredo so glad you got your money back, I agree their staff are very rude unless you are booking a holiday with them, hope you are able to get another holiday booked. good luck regards Marybob
