I am not sure if u mean you are going to dive there or not..but since i have only dived at both tiran island and ras mohammed rather than visted on land, i can only tell you about underneath.
I am not aware of you needing an additional visa, although we did have to take our passports on the dive boat every day.
there was a small entry charge to enter the waters around Ras mohammed which was about £ 3.50 per diver per day. Chicken feed really.
Underneath the waves there is a spectacular world of coral reefs and wonderful species of fish. The currents can get pretty strong sometimes but generally it is not too bad. I have a soft spot for Tiran island as it is where I did my first ever dive..but underwater there is really little to compare between the 2. Ras can get snided out with day boats etc and as a consequence, parts of the coral are suffering.
