I had no problem with what I bought (a variety of prescribed and regular medication) from the chemist just by Lawande stores in Candolim last year.

Hi Phoebe can you tell me where is lawande stores is located in candolim. Thanks Denham.

Lawandes is about 3 or 400 yards past Candolim football pitch on the right hand side, going towards Calangute. If my memory is a better guess than distance, i think the chemist is called Yashi, and near Viva Goa restaurant.

There is also another chemist in Candolim, cant remember the name but it's almost next door to Nino's Nook, He is always busy with locals and tourist's. Hope this helps.

Hi Denham, we usually use one that is down the little alley way between the Snow Inn and Market. Used this one for years and never been ripped off and never had a problem with any of the medications weve bought from there.

Weve also use the one beside Lawandes in the past this one was fine too.

The chemist just past the Lawande is called Yash and is next door to Viva Goa, we've used him for years and have never been ripped off or had any problems with any medication that we have bought.

Someone told me the one by Ninos Nook has some medical training. As someone said earlier he's always really busy with locals and tourists and really does seem to know his stuff. Nice guy too.

Last four visits i have used the chemist just past the Stonehouse in Candolim on the way to Sinquerim. The various items and doses of medication i have bought this year agrees with the reccomended prices on the back. He has copies of the BNF on his counter so you can double check the medication he offers you, Both him and his father are happy to offer advice, and the only shameful thing is that after four years i do not know their names

Any way when i had cleaned him out of his Erothromyacin stock at 10 x 500mg tablets for 58 inr/- I tried a chemist further up the road between Newtons and Lawande, they wanted first 70 then 60 inr/- for three tablets :yikes

I turned my scooter round and went back to my original chemist and bought up his stock of 250 mg tablets.

I needed to purchase quite a lot of Erythromyacin this year
(without boring you, I have a colleague at work who will be sending it to his family in Zimbabwe as medication can not be bought easily and he has had relatives die for the want of basic medicine)

I think a Chemist is like a Jeweller or Tailor in Goa, you find one you like and place your trust in them.

Always use the chemist opposite Ruffles the man knows his stuff and there are always lots of locals queuing which is a qood sign. Have used the one by the football pitch however was overcharged for medication

have to agree chemist opposite ruffles was good. ask him for some cream for backache. the cream is superb, well worth buying just to keep it in stock just in case, cannot remember the name of it off hand also has a cream for cold sores which is hell of a lot cheaper than zivorax and it works.

If you look on the packet of what your cold sore cream is that you bought in Goa and look at what's in Zovirax you'll see it's ecaxtly the same.

When I had a cold sore out there and went to the chemist he gave me the ceam and I think it cost about 50 rupees I looked surprised when he told me the price and he laughed and said cheaper than the English one.

It's exactly the same stuff - I always buy a tube out there and keep it in my cabinet here - just in case :tup

This is so true
...................I will tell you what in notice you have to look at the price on the back of the packs yourself no matter who the chemist is they just name there price
...I go in with a note book and pen and I write down what I get and know the price before he tells me ...the amount of fights I have got into over the years over what it says on the back of tablets ..(only pay what it says on the pack ) not 1 rupee more I learned this from a fellow britt ..
