Hi everyone
I'm considering going to Mexico in November with my hubby and would really appreciate advice on resorts/hotels. We still like a bit of nightlife when on hols but also enjoy something cosmopolitan and a good restaurant some evenings too. I would really like some luxury for this holiday with a special hotel and gorgeous rooms, to be honest I'd be willing to sacrifice being in the hub of a resort if I could find a fantastic hotel that's within a taxi ride away for night time. Hubby also loves his sailing and watersports while i lie in the spa!!

A friend stayed at the moon palace for her honeymoon 2 years ago and is still extolling its virtues. I think she went with Thomsons faraway shores.
We really loved the resort of Playacar in Mexico. It is an immaculate, modern, small resort where you can walk in safety to the nearby town of Playa del Carmen. We stayed at The Tucan/Quetzel hotel which we would highly recommend - huge pools, nice beach, excellent food and animals/birds roaming freely through the wooded areas. We have also had The Riu Palace in Playacar recommended by friends and it certainly looked exquisite from the outside. We can't decide which to go to when we return to Mexico, but it will be one of these.
