you may get some ideas if you read the sticky entitled things to do in bulgaria
Vist the dolphin place in Varna, nothing amazing but the little ones like it.
The Dolphinarium in Varna from Sunny Beach?
OK Amzt it is a day out, but usually an excursion to visit Varna, do some shopping, then visit the Dolphinarium.
yes of course, we also looked around varna
I would recommend 3 musts while you are in Bulgaria all you can spend just half a day or a full day and are not far from Sunny Beach. The first is Sozopol, lots of things to see of interest here as well as beautiful beaches and marina. The second is Nessabur (old Town) lots of cobbled streets with unusual shops with local crafts and painters selling their art work. Thirdly Bourgas centre for the modern boutiques and shops, very good restaurants. The sea gardens here runs for miles lined with cafes and bars and beautiful beach.
we have been told we could hire a taxi for the day and they will take you round, has anyone else done that, and how much does it cost
Yes we have done this but I am going back 7 years so cannot remember the price but we hired the taxi & driver nearly every day to take us somewhere of interest. I am sure you could do this still at a reasonable price, much cheaper than paying for the trips.
