I will try to answer your questions as best I can...
Day in Safga - fancying going to Makadi Bay for a look round. Do you know if anyone did this on your trip?
I'm afraid that I didn't speak to anybody on the trip. Sounds like a nice place

Sharm -Is it easy to get taxis and how much do you think a taxi would be to Namma Bay?
Yes it is very easy to get a taxi in Sharm. Like a previous poster said don't pay for a taxi inside the port gates as they will charge £20 for 1 km! Just walk straight outside the gates (we only needed our passports to get back in the port and even then they only wanted to see my husbands) and go straight on with sea on you right. There are lots of taxis driving around pestering for custom! They reverse back up the road chasing tourists etc! Just say Laa Shokran (no thanks) firmly and they will leave you alone. A sign there said that Naama Bay is 6km away - I hear it's best to agree a price with the driver before you get in.
Aqaba- was thinking of doing the Wadi Rum trip- Do you think that this is somewhere you could visit diy, if so any tips?
We never went into Aqaba ourselves so I'm not sure how easy it would be to book the Wadi Rum trip independently. The ship provides a map of the resorts with some information. Apparently it is 44 miles away. Tourist information is very close to the ship.
Aqaba - visit the lost city of Petra. Possible to do diy any tips?
I have read that it is possible to do this independently by hiring a taxi and then walking / getting a donkey rest of the way and can pay entrance fee yourself.
Port Sokhna - just don't fancy the trip to the pyramids but have heard that this port is really busy industrial with grain machines blowing dust down onto the ship if the wind is blowing the wrong way. Did you find this? Therefore if i dont do the pyramids what else would you recommend doing? Is this the midnight buffet night?
We didn't fancy the 15 hour trip to Cairo either! Port Sokhna is an industrial port so we decided not to venture out. The things that were available on the ship that night when we were there on 13th November (and these things tend to be repeated each week) are:
During the day
- Spanish class at 11am
- Quiz at 2pm
- Salsa class at 3pm
- Fake tan seminar 3.30pm
- Film club at 4pm
- Bridge club 4pm
- Radio presentation 4pm
- Bingo 6pm
- Pilates classes 9am and 6.30pm (fee payable)
In the evening
- Murder Mystery at 8pm and 10pm - this was our first murder mystery and was called Night Before Waterloo. We quite enjoyed it.
- 70s Deck Party at 9.45pm and 11pm
- live classical and jazz music acts nearly all evening with Passion and Romance Classical Concert at 9pm
- Comedy at midnight with Andy Rudge
- Wheel of Fortune at 9.15pm
- Karaoke at 10pm
- Disco in Liberties at midnight
At the cinema The DaVinci Code played at noon, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm and on TV in the cabins these films were showing: Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby also The Break Up with Vince Vaugn and Jennifer Aniston (this also was on at the cinema 3 days earlier)
Buffet Magnifique was on on Saturday - available from 11pm for photos then opened for dining at 11.30pm
What are the prices of drinks onboard like? Say glass wine, Gin and tonic and a pint of beer?
My husband drank pints of Stella and Kronenberg which were £2.50 in the lounges / bars and £2.30 in the Lido Restaurant. I drank cocktails which were £3.15 each. I think the wine cost £2.85 a glass.
Sorry to ask so many questions but i am getting really excited and any tips you can think of i would love to hear.
I was really excited too as it was our first cruise and our honeymoon

Some of my points / tips:
If you want a sunbathe and are having trouble finding a sunbed walk up to the sundeck / deck 10 as good views, loads of sunbeds and direct sun.
Try not to be full on Saturday night as we were too full to eat at the buffet magnifique!
We drank the tea, coffee, herbal and water most of the time as these were all free. Waiters prefer to bring you water rather than you go and get it yourself - took us several days to find that out!
The tour of the bridge took place on the Friday - this was the highlight of my husbands week so if into such things perhaps this could be something to attend.
During the day at sea (Sunday) we found it impossible to get a sunbed but the next day the ship empties as a lot of passengers go to Cairo.
At the captain's cocktail evening that night I got a free white wine and my husband got a free red wine. I got a free top up but they didn't come round with red wine so my husband didn't.
We had a couple of photographers take our photo too but these cost £14.99 each, I think and unfortunately it's set up so shake captain's hand after the photo so he isn't in them.
Be careful in Sharm el Sheikh - we were told one price for soft drinks and then a huge service and tax charge was added to the bill!
In Hurghada airport a guy from tourist information handed out leaflets and also outside the ship one day. We picked these up and people were asking where we got them - some useful info particularly in the Red Sea book handed out in the VIP pack at airport.
Any problems just speak to reception and most of all have a fabulous time
