I am writing this on my dads account.
I will be staying in the Residence Eden next week on a School holiday and as soon as I get back, I will give you more info.

thanks rhys, my kids are 13 and 9 so keen to know whats good for kids that age, have a nice holiday, hope the weather is better than here!
I have been been to Lake Garda before but not at this hotel. I know I will be visiting many places which will be of an interest to your kids, so I will write a report when I return.
From past expirence, I would most certainly reccommend the 'Gardaland Theme Park'. I know they have a website at http://www.gardaland.it

I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Residence Eden and would most certainly recommend these apartments.
The apartments themselves were located in a large complex of Parc Hotel properties and their amenities. They were very spacious. I was in a 1Bedroom flat with three friends and it never felt crowded. The kitchen was equipped with many utensils although I did notice that there was no microwave or cooker (only a hob) which could cause difficulties if you were to stay on a self-catering basis. I had booked full board and always ate at the 'Leonardo da Vinci' restaurant in the Parc Hotel. The food was of a very high standard with all pasta being cooked freshly in front of you before serving.
The Pool areas were incredibly clean with loads of sun beds and there was entertainment provided all day. Opposite my flat there was a small park with swings, a slide, ball pit and a trampoline. One night, it rained quite bad and we didn't fancy walking back to the residence so we stayed in the hotel bar- and we were glad we did. It was latin American dancing night and I didn't stop laughing once.
While we were there, we went on many trips. A few I would recommend would be Cavana World (especially the water park), Verona, Florence (long day but it was definitely worth it) and the small towns of Bardolino and Sirmione.
I would definitely return to the Residence Eden and hopefully will be doing so next year. Hope this has helped and if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them if I can.

Anything we had found on the net seemed to suggest that we were getting two star when we had paid for 4. We worried unnecessarily.
We flew to Verona and were advised to expect a 40 minute transfer. This was one of the reasons we chose this resort because we have two boys (9 and 6) and didn't want a long transfer. In fact the transfer was only 25 mins. Fantastic.
We chose a 2 bed-roomed apartment which meant we weren't faffing on making the sofa bed up every night. we also had a kitchen/sitting room and a spacious shower/toilet. Best of all was the huge balcony which meant we could walk out of our bedroom and back into the sitting room.
The apartment had plenty of pots pans plates and utensils, and there was a TV with lots of channels, but only one English (BBC world) Also remote control Air Conditioning in both bedrooms and the sitting room. All external windows and doors shut properly so no little beasties got in. Only downside was the lack of an oven, and the kettle was an old fashioned one rather than electric which you had to heat on the hob.
Complex had several swimming pools, and a kids playground. There was a mini market near the apartments and other boutique style shops in the hotels which were supposedly 10 mins walk away but in reality were less.
If you are in to golf (we're not) there are also two golf courses.
there is a free courtesy bus into Peschiera which takes less than 10 mins. Buses run every hour till 11 pm apart from a couple of hours early afternoon, siesta time
Pescheira itself is a lovely and ancient town with ferry terminal accessing the whole of lake Garda. It also sits on the main rail line from Milan to Venice and we did Verona in just over half an hour .
Being self catering we ate out every night and in 10 days didn't need to duplicate restaurants. Food was excellent, eating with a mix of locals and tourists and the prices were very reasonable. Certainly we noticed the difference when visiting Bardolino and of course Verona.
For kids, Peschiera is also the nearest town to Gardaland, something we didn't even know about till we got there. There is also a place called Caneva World which includes a water park which we didn't get to but sounded good. we will probably go next year, because, if this is recommendation enough, we have already rebooked
oh what a delight to hear from you! we fly on saturday and i have been worrying that this place is in the middle of no where and i have made a mistake to book it.
we too have booked a 2 bed apartment as kids 13 and 10 so need space. as long as i can make a cup of tea the kitchen facilites will be ok. is it easy to travel on trains to verona or should we go on trip and obviously pay more? we also want to go in the mountains if possible.
did you notice if there was a washing machine I know i am sad but i have a messy family!! and i don't want to take a big suitcase. did you have to pay a 100 euros for cleaning etc
keep in touch theresa
To michael jones, could you please tell mw if towels were supplied at your apartment, Thanks for the account, I can't wait to go there with my family next month.
this place is lovely i have had a good two weeks, however if u r self catering the shop is hopeless. only really good enough for drinks. you have to order your bread and milk the day b4 so when you arrive there is no milk or rolls etc to buy. they also ran out of water while we were there.
be prepared for a squeeze on the transfer coach i sat in the stair well of the coach a couple of times. go up to the hotel to join the bus as by the time it gets to the apartment the queue is long. it only runs once and hour and not at 1 and 2 as he has a siesta. then not at 7 as he has his tea! this means that if you want to go out in the evening it is 6 or 8. the 8 bus is packed!! the last bus home is 11. so be warned! but it didn't ruin my holiday.
the place is lovely. it is predominately german, dutch and belguim and the entertainment stuff is not always in english but we enjoyed not having spanish/english environment like in majorca etc. not an english shop in sight. but don't worry you can still get chips!
feel freee to ask me any questions
