Monte Gordo is a really nice area east of Faro with lots of things to do and easy access to Spain. The beach is fab and plenty of places to eat/drink.
Cabanas is a small village just along from Tavira but is quite quiet.Tavira is a really nice town to visit with lots of tourist attractions.
Think you might like Monte Gordo if you like Alvor.
