We have had three stays in the south and the first year we went to Martins Corner three times.
Each time both the food and the service was good. However, during our second visit to the south, we had just the one meal there.
When we arrived we were given menus and asked if we wanted drinks, so we ordered some (in total I had two cocktails and himself had a couple of beers - one bottle of water between us). They took about ten minutes to arrive and as it was hot and humid, I was spitting feathers by the time they arrived.
There were plenty of waiters walking about, but they didn't seem to be doing anything.
About twenty five minutes after arriving, somebody actually asked us what we wanted to eat. Another 45 minutes later the food arrived (not a bad thing really, as the food was good from fresh). The food was nice (we had Lobster Thermidor as a main course) however, the size of the Lobster was a heck of a lot smaller than we had been used to in Goa and the cost us a heck of a lot more than we were used to as well (it had gone up significantly from the previous year when we ate there). It isn't that we minded paying more as the meal was meant to be a treat, however, we did mind paying more for what was actually less if you see what I mean. The cost of the meal including drinks and excluding a small tip was around £30.
Not only that, by the time the food arrived, I was drunk because I had been drinking on an empty stomach.
We didn't go there when we were in Goa in March as we ate a lot in Fusion (near the Majorda Beach).
However, as this will be our fourth visit to the south, we have decided to give them one last chance just in case our last visit to Martin's Corner was just a one off bad experience.
