I was there in February last year and wrote my review as usual. All in all it was quite pleasant but I wouldn't be in a hurry to return. Since my visit I believe it is now completely A/I.

We're going in May so I will let you know what it's like when we come back. Have read mixed reports so we're just going to make the best of it. The grounds lead straight onto the beach so no busy road to cross, which is good for us with a one year old in the party. I googled the hotel on google images & it looks nice enough for me for the money we're paying.

Hi, the hotel really is next to the beach, there is large pool and the pool bar restaurant has one side next to pool and just walk round it and you are on the beach so can sit on beach for lunch.
When we 1st arrived, 5 of us we were told they had no twin rooms left, we had booked 2 rooms. I panicked but reception said dont worry we give you suite. This consisted of a 3 bedroom apartment with 8 beds in it, with a fantastic view.
We all enjoyed this hotel, it is clean everything is handy, food very varied.
We went in july 08 and the entertainment got a bit monotonous almost same every night, allthougth the team really did put some effort into it. Having said that one of the girls that came with us loved it so much she returned again in oct 08 and said entertainment had changed with difrent acts.

Also if you fancy a snack at night between 10 and 12, oclock ask at reception where you can get food and they will show you, not many people new you could get food late on as they kept this restaurant in candle light, so you wouldnt notice i think..........mmm

Yes would return to this hotel again.

Hi, remember me from January, I said I'd let you know what the hotel was like once I'd been in May? Well, we had a lovely time. We booked with Onthebeach.com. Everything ran smoothly. If I emailed them with a query it was responded to promptly and everything was booked as it should be. I would say the hotel was a 3 star not a 4 star, but for the money we paid we were very happy. Yes, parts of it - including the rooms, are dated, but it is a very clean hotel and the staff work very hard to keep it so. The pool area was lovely and the pool guy reserved our beds (all 7 of them) every day. The pool was very clean, but took your breath away when you got in. Was ok after a few seconds though. It will be very hot when you go so you will welcome the coldness. Pool area led straight onto the beach, which was lovely too. Nice golden sand, no stones or shingle and clean sea. You do get a few sellers on the beach, but they are only trying to make a living like everyone else. Hotel security shoo them away though. Rooms were cleaned every day. No hairdryer, kettle etc, but I always take my own travel ones so it never bothered me anyway. We had sea view rooms on the 9th floor and had great views. Food was good, but a bit samey after a while I suppose, so we did eat out for a change. If you're the sort who likes their home food abroad then it may not be to your liking though. We like to try different things so it never bothered us. The food was fresh, not kept from one meal to the next. Restaurants were nice, clean and airy and none of us had an upset stomach. Our waiter was very attentive all through the holiday, so we gave him a good tip at the end. Pancakes and fresh hot ring doughnuts at 4pm every day are a must. It is a big hotel - 650 bedrooms - so it will be very busy in August. Expect queues at all meal times, it was starting to get busy when we left.
The entertainment in itself at night was a bit poor - there was not really enough on in the evening. I put this down to the fault of the management and not the animation team, they're only doing as they're told. However, the animation team were so friendly and funny and attentive to everyone in our party and they did try their best. They seemed to love the english the most and we became good friends with them for the time we were there. We'll all miss them so much. In fact, all the hotel staff were friendly, we had a great time and are planning to go again next May.
Hassle didn't bother us, it just went straight over our heads, even the more persistant ones. We just had a laugh and a bit of a banter with them. They are only trying to make a living like everyone else, they just have a different way. Went on the 2 day Sahara trip. It was worth it, but be prepared to be in the coach for a good part of it.
Hotel is not half as bad as people have made out. We loved the place and the people and really miss it; So go and enjoy it, remembering it's Africa and not the "British" Costa Del Sol and you'll have a good time.
Sorry message is so long, but I can talk for England!
Hope you have a good time

Glad you had a good holiday Chrissy but I should imagine you are the sort of person who would fit in anywhere, friendly and laid back. As you so rightly say, it is Africa, not the Costa del Sol, and people should remember that and realise that they have a different mind-set. This does include trying to sell us as much as possible but at the end of the day it's up to us whether we fall for it or not. :rofl

Hi, we are going to this Hotel in Aug. Does anyone know if they have any computers that can be hired for accessing Internet ? Other than checking emails etc, we will need to charge our iPods and we need access to a PC to do this. Thanks.
