just returned from san an bay, last week and as usual we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves BUT!
is it not time the shop keepers in and around the bay and san an town got realistic and reduced prices,
1 litre of milk 1.45 euros! is it even possible to buy anything in euro zone under 1 euro?
drinks prices again all over the place depending on where you drank,2 euros for a pint of san miguel in one bar but walk a few 100 yards and a pint of the same could be 3.50 euros.
personnelly i feel the shops bars clubs are taken the piss and because numbers are down this year the folks that did go on hols are getting fleeced!
one bar that we ate drank and partied in and spent over 500 euros in had the cheek to charge my wite 2.50 euros for a cd mega mix that they played most nights, not even afree copy after all the money we spent in there, again taking us for a ride.
be careful where you spend your hard earned cash cause ibiza is now one big rip off.
we will return next year but those bars that ripped us off will be neglected.
i could not praise the highlander enough, good location good food good sensible drink prices for the area they are in.
cheers
1 litre of milk is currently 51 cents in syp.
what differance in decor were the bars you went in.i pay 3.50 a pint or 4 depends what beer i fancy. about the right price anyway.ok i can get it cheaper 1.60 for two pints in a bottle.but you dont mind paying for a dj or artist and better decor
i do believe the likes of the highlander and godfathers were the most competitive on drink prices and in the west end we did not mind paying the odd euro more as expected.
dont get me wrong we love san an and will return next year but as said in my first post there are bars clearly hiking up prices and it aint doing them any favours, even the entertainment in san an bay was limited this year and the excuse for this was that the local mayor had issued a warning about noise pollution!!! one bar owner told us the locals have made their money and now want to reclaim their island for themselves again......i was shocked at this but not surprised.
we love ibiza we will return ...........
cheers
sounds like the same bar owner who told me in all seriousness that you couldn't buy cucumbers in ibiza. noise rules are no different this year to last year and i don't believe that the locals will ever think that they have enough money. what does astound me is that people come from britain to ibiza expecting third world prices and first world service and accommodation. why? Spain's economy is the 5th biggest in europe and 9th in the world - would you go to holland or germany expecting to pay next to nothing for ale? of course not, but if you really want a cheap pint then you can get one for 32 pence in rwanda where i believe there is even a hotel.
