I have looked in the hotel reports, but cannot find this hotel. Has anyone ever stayed here, or has anyone heard about this hotel.
Barrie.
Thank you Fiona, that was very helpfull, I'm getting more and more tempted by this hotel.
The location of the Riverside Regency is dead opposite the Riverside hotel (opposite side of the river) on the road just before the bridge. The rooms are large and clean. I was placed in there because the Marinha Dourada was overbooked and would deffo stay there again.
From what I saw I would not hesitate to stay there as I love the location on the Baga river.
The Baga river is a beutiful spot - if you walked to the beach you would have to keep going through the ugly box bridge which is not too bad in the day but I wouldn't attempt it after dark - I would use a taxi - they are cheap enough.
I have stayed at the Riverside for the past 3 years and my Dad and friends stayed at the regency this year. The Riverside is very basic, very friendly and the chinese restaurant (under the guesthouse) is very nice I don't usually eat chinese but I will definately go back there next year, the regency over the other side of the river is a little bit better in my opinion (we are booking there next year) it is newer and there was talk of a new block being built next year, they are also putting in a/c in some of the rooms. The restuaurant is small outside by the pool (undercover), we all ate there for several nights as they do a set menu (it changes every so many nights) which was very very nice. The staff are very helpfull and friendly and the rooms are always cleaned (as long as you leave your key at reception)
We are definately going back there next year so it can't be too bad!!!

Hey! Goan Crazy! The Marinha Dourada for you!!
Hey Goan Girl! We have booked for the Marinha, 3 weeks going on 9th Feb I think. If they are overbooked and turf us ot again we will go to the Regency (after tossing Edwin into the lake). See you there!
Cheers

I think you'll find that this bridge no longer exists.

i would say it has to be a 20-30 walk..it may be quicker if they have finished the road direct to the bridge.
