Well I can only say that I have travelled with Deutschebahn - German Railways from Freiburg to Rome (left at 00H42 and arrived in Rome at approx midday) and also Colmar to Rome, with a change at Milan -with similar timings.
I would suggest that you investigate the web site of German Railways (they cover all Europe, and are in English as well as in German) - http://www.deutschebahn.de, for full timings but I suspect that you would be looking at:
London to Paris Nord - Paris Est to Milan or
London to Brussels - Brussels to Milan - Milan to Rome.
Good luck and remember to take some water and some snacks as a minimum!
