Rooms available in north goa

we need a room for 2 weeks from the 19th jan, ive emailed a guesthouse in candolim, which im hoping they have availability because people keep saying its really nice. But im a bit worried as January is peak season, so im not sure they will have a room available for the whole of our 2 weeks.

Im unsure about what to do, should i just get a taxi from the airport and ask a taxi driver to take me to a guesthouse?

Ive sorted out the accomodation voucher issue, we;re going to book for the marriot hotel as they dont require payment until you arrive, they will send us an email, take our card details, and then as soon as we've received our email confirming booking we will cancel as it doesnt cost a thing to cancel up to 24 hours before

Your confusing me !! What exactly have you booked ? Accomodation to the Marriot ? flights to Goa, and Marriot or what...

Spike, having read it a couple of times, I think Yummy has booked the Marriot so she can show the confirmation e mail at the airport and be allowed through as this will be proof of accommadation. Once through check in, she will cancel the booking and stay in a cheaper guest house if she finds one.

I think it sounds like as soon as the confirmation e mail is received she will cancel the booking. Sounds like a cunning plan

Well if thats what is needed to get an accomadation voucher,then do it - but seems unfair on the Marriot...
Would be easier to create a false hotel booking form on your pc,I did last year but it wasn't needed as a voucher came with the tickets as they always have.

Spike - if i thought that would work then i would have done it, but i know a couple who got turned away from manchester airport travelling with monarch, they had an email off a small guesthouse, and the check in staff said it wasnt good enough, so they were refused boarding. I dont want to be in the same situation as them, so i have taken the necessary measures to prevent that from happening.
Although im not travelling with monarch i still think there might be a chance we'd get asked a lot of questions.

yeah seems really unfair on the marriott and especially if someone cant get a room there because of your false booking, however if needs must

personally i would have got carted off to the nick if snotty little twerp tried to turn me away from my holiday....

Try these guys http://www.chalstoningoa.com/ we are staying in the new villas in March/April costing 1500 rupe's a night and looks lovely, you can get a room in the older block for around 1000 a night.
