The hotel is set at the eastern end of Hersonissos away from the noise of the town.

you have an excellent beach for children, which is also safe. There is a water park situated there too.

The hotel is up a slight hill but should be no problem. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the hill.

All the scheduled bus services and coach pickup start at the entrance to the hotel.

You should also try the landtrain which will take you on a tour which includes to 2 villages up behind hersonissos.

The Royal Belvedere is great. It's the only hotel we've stayed where my OH has said, "We will come back here."

(not this year though!)

Thanks Parky. Just google earthed hotel. Looks long way from beach. How long to walk to beach?

The walk is not too far, there is a mini bus that runs at certain times of the day. you will have to check that locally.

Best thing on really hot day is to take your time both up and down the hill.

It's only a 5 - 10 mins stroll down to Star Beach Water Park, free entry during the day, and another couple of minutes down to the beach. There is a good, safe, small water park with sunbeds on the top level and a safe, sandy beach down the steps.
The taverna on the road at the back of the Kids pools is well worth a visit on an evening. Dancing and entertainment laid on.
If you do go down in an evening, watch out for the nutters on Quads.
The Lower pool bar in the Belvedere is great for an evening drink when you come back from Star Beach, it just breaks the journey nicely.
Ask at the reception desk if you can get discount passes for the Water Slides - the owner of the Belvedere owns the Star Beach as well. Some got them a couple of years ago, but we didn't as we only went in a couple of times.
Use the organised trip for the Water City trip, (not to be missed), as it costs €30 for a taxi.

Enjoy.

Re Water City, you can see it on the top of the hill to your left as you are on the way to Hersonissos from the airport. It's a massive park with lots to do for the kids from 6 to 60. We went with our grandkids age 11 & 9 and we had a really good time. ( I may be an old fart, but I can still enjoy myself! ).

Other things to see are Vai Beach, Sissi for a lovely village, Stoupa War Graves, the Moonlight Chapel on the way to Ag Nik. 4 weeks isn't enough.
