8) Just got back a couple of weeks ago from Lloret, Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Royal Star all inclusive for two weeks! Im 22 and my girlfriend is 18 so straight away this place didnt realy suit us! This hotel is cattered for families (totally) The good points about the hotel were its clenliness and its devotion to making sure kids had a good time, but only kids! The entertainment every night consisted of a show for the kids followed by the same bad disco every night, and because we got the local drinks for free wee sat most nights and suffered it! The food at this hotel isnt up to scratch, its certainly not a four star hotel, ive stayed in better two star ones! There isnt enough selection especially for dinner, every time they cooked meat it was pink in the middle (sickning). I would not reccomend this hotel for a lads or lassies holiday for a few reasons - 1 you are told to keep the noise down after 12 and 2 your not allowed to bring partners back to your hotel! (Friends should i say). At the end of the day i would recommend this to familys and familys only!

Have booked a holiday with my boyfriend before checking the internet! The hotel sounds disastrous! Anybody been? I'd be really grateful if you let me know how the holiday was. Thanx :?

We have just returned from the Casino Royal, which is part of the same hotel chain. As part of our all-inclusive deal we could visit other hotels in the group for a drink/meal/whatever. We didn't actually bother going to any of the other hotels, but some people from the Casino Royal went to the Royal Star and they said it was very nice, much better than our hotel anyway...
Have you seen the H.Top Group's website info on this hotel? http://www.htophotels.com/eng/hotels/toproyalstar.htm there are loads of pictures and stuff on the website.

Hi, I have also booked to stay at this hotel with my boyfriend before checking the internet. I nearly died when I read some of the reviews but I just hoping that it might not be so bad!!!

After reading all of the reviews, quite a few people have said that when they get there - the hotel doesn't have a record of their booking or that they were booked in elsewhere. I have emailed the hotel for confirmation and have heard absolutely nothing back!

I keep reading all the reviews that people keep adding and the most recent ones are not so bad...

I read a couple of reviews where they told people that they would have to stay at another hotel, so i telephoned the travel company we booked with and they sent me some confirmation detailing all the dates and times of flying and th hotel name saying we had booked all inclusive too cos i read one review on the reviews that some people that stay are not all inclusive..

What dates do you go because I keep wondering what the weather will be like too...

I go on Saturday 18th September - I've just looked on the web and it's coming up as 24 degrees. Not too bad. When do you go?

Hi

I stayed at the Royal Beach in May of this year with my husband and three children. The Royal Star is part of the same group of hotels and when we visited one night for our evening meal, the food was just as good as at the Royal Beach. We also visited one time during the day and thoroughly enjoyed it, although the pool area was a little smaller than at our hotel and the indoor pool was a bit tucked away (in the basement). All in all though there wasn't anything 'bad' about the Royal Star from what we saw. Happy holidays. 8)

hi, we just got back from staying in the hotel royal beach (part of the same company) and although we never went into the royal star, we passed it almost every day whilst walking into lloret de mar.

the royal star hotel is right in the middle of fenals and lloret de mar.

its right on a very very busy main road and if you go into lloret de mar or fenals unfortunately you will need to cross this road. (very fast changing traffic lights at each end of the road , fenals and lloret)

from the outside i have to be honest and say it didnt look upto the standard of either the royal beach or the casino royal, but in saying that, with all the road traffic the (smog) would not help it.

spoke to a few people who went there for a meal (needs to be booked 1 day in advance and you are given a voucher, though you can go into any of the hotels for a drink at any time), and they said the food was of a good standard.

as for the weather.

from last wednesday till saturday night when we left to go home, it never dropped below 30 degrees during the day (max was 37) at night it was 21 degrees. though i would hazard a guess and say the royal star is fully air conditioned like the royal beach (plesent surprise when you walk in the door after a day on the beach  )

A group of 9 of us stayed there on the all-inclusive package recently and generally thought it great value for money. The food was standard buffet affair but nothing better or worse than we expected for the price! Facilities were genarally good only down side was that our room was overlooking the cemetry to the rear of the hotel and the busy main road to the front of the hotel was a bit of nightmare to cross over. We found staff reasonably friendly despite numerous trips to the bar and the entertainment was ok to a point so although it may not appeal to everyone i would give this hotel 7 out of 10.

I stayed at the Royal Star 2 years ago.
It's a nice hotel but the only thing to watch is the views from some of the blaconies are dodgy.
On the side you have Lloret cemetary. Also, at one place on the back there's a spot where the balconies are in the bottom of a V shape and look over the flat roof of the ground floor and the only real view is of other peoples balconies on the other side of the building :). But as long as your view is ok (or you're not bothered) you'll have a great time I'm sure.

Your comments on the Hotel breakfast raised a smile on my lips it sounds very familiar, not just of the Royal Star but most Spanish hotel breakfasts I can remember.

But you forgot to mention the coffee 'substitute' Hotels use - absolutely disgusting and I still haven't figured out exactly what it is.

Nowadays we always take a breakfast 'livener' pack with us which consists of HP Sauce, Heinz Tom Ketchup, Bovril, Nescafe Instant coffee, salt and pepper. This little pack has turned many drab breakfasts into enjoyable feasts.

In reply to Jamie's post, I would say not being able to bring 'friends' back to the hotel is a plus point- would you really like to stay somewhere where drunk teen brits on holiday were permitted to bring back any old thing they had picked up in a nightclub?

Believe me, your belongings would not be around for very long.

Besides is against spanish law, anyone staying in a hotel/hostel/pension has to be registered there and be able to provide ID with a photo.
