I am looking for visitors reviews on their last visit to the Royal Sun hotel in Snata Susanna.
Many thanks.

I found this site whilst looking for info on the hotel I'm going to in Lloret - the Royal Sun is part of the same hotel group:

Hello there to my fellow vacation-lovers...
I really need some help here...I've closed on a vacation to Costa Brava for a week and can not decide between the Royal Sun hotel in Santa Susanna to the Amaika Hotel in Calella - does anyone know about these hotels and their real appearances and services? I've read the reviews but people seem to write 'excellent' and then they start complaining! So, how can you really know??
I would appreciate any feedback on this since I have to decide asap and my poor travel agent, she's lost her mind because of me....
Thanks guys!
what you should take into account is the place itself: santa susanna is less touristic than calella. there you'll meet more spanish people than foreigners. hotel top royal sun is nice, front sea line. These summer they were promoting a very good offer for this hotel in this webpage: http://www.centraldereservas.com. It was something like 40€ per room on a half board basis in july. this is a pretty good price
Take care

These hotels are part of the same group, so whichever one you stay in, you will be able to visit the other. This is their website: http://www.htophotels.com/eng/hoteldirectory.htm just click on the names of each hotel to find out what is available at each one.
Hello all
I got back today and just had to let everyone know that i had a really really nice time. The Amaika Hotel is really sweet and good location to barcelona (ideal actually) because of the beach and being an hour away by metro which is SOOO easy. It was a really really great (and majorly exhausting!) trip.
Thinking of booking all inclusive in this hotel July this year for 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 4). I would appreciate any replies especially about the size of the rooms, do they have A/C etc and about the food.
Thanks in advance

Don't know about the hotel, but we passed it every day last sept, it looks nice, on the beach, try looking at all the reviews on this site and others will give you an idea if it's for you

Claimed to be 4 stars it barely fits 2 or 3.
Service is extremely bad. Poor facilities and food.
Staff is outstandingly insolent and unfriendly.
Do not expect them changing used towels, bed linen or bringing shampoo into your room.
Rooms are badly equipped, air condition, safe box and minibar don't work.
No hairdryers, no shampoo, no soap and sometimes even no paper.
Nice view on the railroad and very nice noice from trains.
You can close the balcony door of course but please remeber that air condition doesn't work!
The pool is small and has no warming.
NO PARKING!! Hotel has about 10 parking places and all are taken by hotel staff.
If you are asking about possible parking place in the area you'll be told that "this is YOUR PROBLEM" (!).
Of course neither fitness nor sauna.
Restaurant is claimed to work for 2 hours on breakfast and dinner, but actually there's no food even a half hour after opening.
And nobody worries to bring more.
The menu is the SAME for a week. Mostly junk food. Do not expect beef, lamb, turkey, duck or even simple omelet.
They serve by "one kind". Meaning. every day's same kind of pork, one fish, one cheese, one salami, one beans (?) etc.
One kind of beer, one kind of bread, one kind of marinades. No natural coffee or juice.
That's it.
And even this you have to catch it time because of if you come a half hour after opening
you will find empty trays (OK, beans and marinade are never empty).
Do not expect also waitress coming to your table, even after you call her.
One more pretty thing is smoking. They're smoking everywhere and smoke cheap sigar tobacco.
I'm smoking too, but it so smells that even smoker can't tolerate.
Finally, most terrible hotel I ever visited.
Good Luck

Hi,
Has anyone been to this hotel recently, I am going there early July with my wife and 2 young children. Some of the reviews on the websites have given me cause for concern, mainly because of the food and lack of entertainment for the Kids.
My wife and I aren't too fussy, we'll eat just about anything.
Is it good for Kids, location looks superb, the kids are really looking forward to it.
thanks

Hi, My family and I have been to this hotel a few times, last visit was in May this year. Hotel is spotless, food no problem and staff very very friendly (except a couple of the dining room witresses). Hotel is right on the beach so great for the kids and they have kids events organised through the day. The kids rep was leaving at the end of may so no experience what the new one is like. Pool is at the side of the hotel so due to the shadow can get cool late in the afternoon. Train station only 4-5mins stroll excellent for going into Barcelona. Would recommend the boat trip from the beach to Tossa de Mar. You should have no problems with this hotel.
Ps The bar can get very very busy with all inclusive guests so prepare to wait to be served espesially at the weekend when the Spanish arrive!
Have a nice time
