Has anyone been to salou in February if so what was the weather like.
Also anyone know which hotels are available at this time of the year as unable to find any at the moment
Cheers
I Believe it's really only classed as a Summer destination. Could explain why you can't find any Hotels opened and I don't think many shops open either.
Does anyone know if this is so as we have been told salou is now open all year round now that port Aventura is open all year.
Sorry to put a damper on things but I have just been on the Portaventura website and its says they Close in Jan. If its the same as last year they don't reopen until March. I have enclosed a link with details and maybe you could phone them. Karen
i was in salou in may and it was still pretty quiet then
i went in feb and it was freezin n nothing was open!
what was it like at new year as we are going between xmas & new year, what was open at port aventura?.
thanks,
Nigel
The park was open including New Years Eve and was very quiet by summertime and Disney standards which suited us with very little queing
The problems came when trying to get anthing to eat both in the park and at the hotel. Even JR commented on his radio program about the queues.
You have to breakfast early to avoid them.
In addition there was very little open outside 'normal' meal times.
We had to resort to a kit kat and crisps at one stage as nothing was open at 4pm.
At breakfast I sat on chair which had a rough piece of metal sticking up which ripped my jeans. Tthey compensated me straight away without question but the following day the chair was still in the same place!
The real fun came on New Years Eve when we found out that the park was closing and the only place to eat was in the Gala do they were putting on for approx 1200 people.
Most people there were on package holidays and the gala was included. We had booked independently as it was cheaper. We had 3 small children with us and didn't think it suitable as it went on till 5am. After a lot of enquiries they told us that it was 100 euros per adult and 50 for each kid. We had no choice as everything else was closed so we booked which was utter chaos taking two hours! We tried to pay on booking but they couldn't handle that at the same time.......
The food and endless booze was great all on a massive scale- fireworks like nothing in England....a long night of fun and games for those who could stay awake.
We were never given a bill at the end of meal and are still waiting! 450 euros in the bank!
We had a good time and again last week on a last minute bargain through Thomsons- i'm temped for this New Year again...
Enjoy your trip.
im not expecting anything weather wise but is it busy and is there much open???
went to the europa park in june this year and loved the place
thanks for any help
Most of Salou closes down at the end of October and doesn't really get started again until May. You may find some apartments available earlier in the year but not sure about hotels. Most of the brits that I've met who work out there, come home at end of October or go to Lanzarote and other warmer places. I know for certain that Villamarina club is closed.
