I havent been for 3 or 4 years but "Sa Capilla" is one of the best restaurants in San Antonio. Its not cheap for Ibiza but a third the price of an equivalent London one,John.
luckily every restaurant in san antonio will allow your mother in. i've had personal experience of this from taking my mother to the following top notch rezzies in san an. rias baixas, sa capella, es rebost de can prats, villa mercedes, sa punta, es ventall, club nautico, s'embarcador, saravadero and many others. no idea of the price - i let her pay!
Im actually going there for my birthday, booking for about 10 of us but i need to ask them nicely if they will open early so some of them can go to work.
Java in San Antonio Bay is great, as vikkims says the best fillet steaks cooked to perfection. I always visit here at least once during any visit to Ibiza. I would not consider them expensive as I find the food excellent value. The resturant itself is fairly basic but its about the atmosphere of this family run establishment. Their sangria is good too.
Villa Mercedes in the port area of San Antonio has fantastic surrondings and nice views accross the bay. I ate here back in 2004 and found the food to be fairly avergage. I think at weekends they still have live music with Paco Fernandez. I only ever visit for drinks now mainly so we can lounge around of the many sofas in the garden terrace. Worth checking out just for drinks if your are not eating.
Sa Capella - only been here once as it was a special occasion. The day I proposed and got engaged. Beautiful seating up in the hills on the outskirts of San Antionio - best get a cab. This old church has been converted into a great venue. The food was amazing, lots of seafood and meats and great desserts. After our meal we sat outside on the garden terrace. Probably the most money I have spent on a meal in Ibiza
For cheap excellent value food try Davids opposite the curry club in the town on route to Cafe del Mar/Mambo. The food here is excellent and so cheap. The pizzas are the best. Think I will be here a few time in June

ahhh long time no speak! personally i dont think they are expensive its just if you try to class them with the likes of your 3 course for 10 euros kind of restaurants then your obviously going to be paying a little more. (fraz not saying you are just explaining myself and i will email you next week for a catch up! x)
Don't know how to quote previous posts on this site
Yes, long time no speak It was on your recommendation that I went to Java and had a fillet steak. Its all I ever have when I go now.
Anyway better no hijack this thread. Yes, e-mail me soon to catch up. Take it we are going to miss each other in Ibiza this year
Speak to ya soon.
X
Have to agree about villa mercedes, especially the table which is on the balcony on the second floor, fantastic and geat service,
Can anyone tell me where abouts, in relation to the Hotel Nautilus San Antonio Bay, these restaurants are (especially Java and Villa Mercedes)? Would love to try one during our trip in May
Both in San Antonio Town, up a pedestrianised street with the Adjutetent office at the bottom of it.
In the past i would also have recommended La Cantina but thought it wasn't very nice the last time we were there.

your will pay around 40 euros for a three course meal with wine, although they sometimes have specials on which are a bit cheaper depending on when in the season your are going.
here is a link for maps for san an, Villa mercedes is on the left hand side along the part which is marked marina, just a bit further down, the hotel nautilus is on the right had side of the map just further down from the bergantin, if you click on the smaller map navigation on the screen you can see where the nautilus is too.

Java is 2 less than 2 min walk from Nautilus. turn right out of the hotel and walk along past avis rental, and a few bars then there is a left hand turn and its on that side street. i think the sportsman bar used to be next door but it may have changed names. when in may are you there? we are over there 19th till 28th and will be eating at Java 23rd for my b'day wooooo.
We will be at the Nautilus from the 25th May for a week - we may see you around vikkims if not hope you have a lovely birthday
Looks like we may try both restaurants while we are there. Do we need to book a table
in peak season its advisable to pre book, but in may you will be fine....enjoy, im there is june!!
thanks everyone u have really helped xxx
As bill99 has thanked all for the information I shall lock this thread now.
