Hi
We might be booking this hotel for this September. Has anyone stayed here before? Is it in Playa del carmen or Riveria Maya as 2 different websites are telling me different locations!
Is it 24 hour all inclusive? If it is in playa del carmen is it far from the main strip (senor frogs) etc?
Thanks for any help
We dropped people off here on the way to the Royal in Playa del Carmen. It is off a dual carriage way and then there is a LONG drive into the hotel itself. You certainly couldn't walk into Playa from there. I have read lots of reviews and they all seem good though.
Have you looked at the Royal in Playa and it's sister hotel the Gran Porto? They are both in Playa itself, on the beach and a minute or so away from 5th Ave. Dead easy to get the ferry to Cozumel from here.

We got back form there last Sunday. It was great !!
It is in Riviera Maya, The hotel rovides a free shuttle bus into Playa Del Carmen, although it is very busy, and we ended up getting a taxi when we went into town (100Peso's each way) which was about £5.
The hotel itself is great, 24 hour All Inclusive, and they have thought of everything. There is the main buffet restaurant, which was wonderful, as well as Italian and Mexican Buffet restaurants. There was also a Brazilian, Mediterranean, Chinese and Steak House. The Brazilian was lovely, the other A la carte's were ok, but that was only because they were quite limited on choice. But the food was still nice.
There was the Plaza snack bar, open all day with breakfast, lunch and evening snacks. There was a BBQ on the beach every day. Afternoon cakes and coffe or hot choc in the Piano Bar.
The resort itself was spotlessly clean and the grounds beautifully kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really couldn;t find fault with anything.
We didn't see much entertainment as the shows started at 9.45, and we have two young children waking us up very early in the morning !!! We did however manage the Beach Party on the Saturday night, and sent the kids back to the room with Grandma !! NOw, that was a good night, bit too much Tequila though !!
All in all we had a great holiday, and would definatley go back or recomend this hotel to others.

Thanks for all your help. We went to Cozumel last year and got the ferry to PDC and enjoyed the shops etc there so thought it might be nice to stay there.
Is the beach at the hotel nice or is it a bit rough?

The beach is very nice and very well looked after, any litter removed and it apeared to raked almost daily. However there are a few rocks in the sea, you could still go in, and everyone was, you just had to be careful and my children wore scubie shoes.
