We have visited Perissa on 4 occasions (staying at the Perivolos end) . It has plenty of bars & restaurants to try - you can visit a different one each night in a 14 night stay if you wish !
You can get excursions from either of the 3 local travel agencies much cheaper than your tour operator! Worth doing is the Volcano Boat trip - either daytime or sunset , the island tour is good, to visit the ruins at Akrotiri you can get the local bus which is cheap & frequent.

Stayed there a couple of years ago.....great place, lot of places to eat....Trips are very good..lots to see and do
