I'm going to Calella for a long weekend on the 16th March (the weekend before Easter weekend) for a friend's 40th. I've been to Calella a few times but I've never been this far out of season before, and I was just wondering if the resort will be fully open. I know it's a working town, so the shops etc should be open, but I was unsure of all bars and clubs etc will be open, such as Beach Boys and Alcatraz etc.
As we've not been for a while I was wondering what sort of prices the local beer was in a Brit pub and also in a local Spanish bar in the side streets. The last time I was here the prices were becoming one of the most expensive in the Mediterranean and the only reason we are going back is for nostalgia (everyone went to Calella in the 80's) and we had a really cheap Ryaniar flight.
Also does anyone know what the weather should be like in mid March? I'm hoping it will be shorts weather in the day and maybe a jumper in the night due to the chill etc.
If anyone has an email address of anyone who is working out there that wouldn't mind us putting up some 'happy 40th' banners etc on Sunday 16th March can you let me know
We were there in January and the shops were a bit hit and miss at opening. We were AI so didn't buy a drink outside the hotel. We're going back 26th for a few days so will get some more info for you.
