The Day Before
Friday 23rd March 2012

I had utilised some great offers on Red Spotted Hanky for train travel down to Gatwick as we don't have a car at the moment. I think we paid £14 each to get from Norwich to Gatwick and with a £19 Travelodge booked we were looking to have some extra spends for Vegas itself. I had a half day from work so at midday I said my farewells and got the bus back home (First Bus in Norwich are notoriously rubbish so had to wait nearly 40mins for my connection from Norwich city centre), Kel was leaving off at 3pm and walking to the train station where I was going to meet her. Without a car I have been heavily reliant on my Dad to run us around, so with Bruno the cat in his carrier it was off to the cattery and then onto the train station. Bags were packed the night before without too much arguing, it was, after all only 6 nights (7 if you include the Travelodge).
Meeting up with Kel at the train station we hopped on the 4pm train to Liverpool Street which left on time and was pretty unspectacular. I was pretty pleased with myself for paying only £5 each for this journey. At Liverpool Street we hit rush hour commuter traffic and the tube across to Farringdon was not that pleasant with luggage but it is only a short walk from the tube to the overground station here so we were soon waiting for the direct train to Gatwick. Arriving at Gatwick we headed to the Twilight Check In desk with Virgin where we encountered a queue which seemed to move very slowly. It really should be a simple process but families of 8-10 seemed to be having lots of problems. Eventually we checked in and lost the bags, so with just hand luggage we headed off to get some food in Gatwick. Now it is quite a while since we travelled from Gatwick South Terminal and I know BAA have sold up but we really struggled to find something to eat landside. There was the Beehive (Wetherspoons) but that was busy and after waiting in line for the Twilight Check in queue to reduce we wanted to get off to the Travelodge.....

The Day Before continued....

There used to be a McDonalds landside, but it looks as though the Beehive has taken over that space so we were struggling and ended up in a M&S Food outlet buying ham and rolls and taking them with us to the Travelodge. Ever the frugal person I had found out a local bus route to take us from the airport to the Travelodge Gatwick Central which would cost £1.80pp but as it turned out we were far too early for the next bus (only one an hour) so hopped on the dedicated Hotel shuttle which to my surprise was only £2.50pp anyway and it would take us straight to the hotel.
The Travelodge Gatwick Central used to be the Mercure and is huge, definitely a change in thinking for Travelodge, however it felt very strange. Travelodge is all about minamilstic these days and the property is just too big, so there are huge gaps where you would expect tables and chairs to be and this is also the case in the attached bar/restaurant which has been refurbished very nicely but is way big. We had a few drinks in the bar and the service was poor. We stood next to a couple who ordered some food and were given a time of 40 minutes so they left the restaurant to come back later and you guessed it, the food was out in 5 minutes and they were not there! Plenty of other food was coming out and the waitress could not find the correct table, it really was a bit of a joke.
The room itself was typical Travelodge but again oversized. There were some touch up issues on furniture and walls but I assume they will get round to this at some point soon as I believe the refurbishment happened very quickly last year. We had a good nights sleep for once and had set the alarm for 7:00, we were not flying until 11:20 but wanted plenty of time so we were not under pressure the next morning at Gatwick. We again opted for the shuttle bus at £2.50pp and within minutes we were at Gatwick!

Day 1 Saturday 24th March 2012

Arriving at Gatwick South Terminal it was nice to avoid the queues for check in and head straight to Security. I must admit, I wasn't overly impressed with the 'new' Gatwick but they have done a great job with security. There were staff practically asking you to move down to get through straight away, it took less than 3 minutes and we were in familiar territory airside at Gatwick. We had Wetherspoons for breakfast, it was nice but not memorable enough to remember what we had. We kicked around in the new luxury chairs in departures for a bit before waiting for our gate number to come up and boarding VS43 to Las Vegas. The flight was on time which would mean getting into Vegas just after 3pm, one of the reasons why we opted for this particular flight.
The flight was not very exciting but good, all the negatives about Virgin (IFE not working, drinks running out, grumpy staff) were proved incorrect and it was plain sailing all the way to Vegas. One of the bonuses sitting on the right side, we practically followed the strip into landing so it was good to see all the familiar hotels and to be honest, my legs already felt tired at the prospect of walking but we were in Vegas for the first time in 4 years and we were ready to rock n roll!
Despite being in Vegas my Wife had struck up a friendship with a fellow Norwich City fan who was next to her on the flight so they were more interested in the score against Everton than being in Vegas! Immigration took about 45mins (the first time we had ever done this in Vegas), not the worst, certainly not the best and with bags picked up we headed out to the Nevada sun to grab a cab to Planet Hollywood. Wait! No sun? Welcome to Vegas in March, it was cloudy and cool but that wasn't going to dampen the spirits one bit. The one thing I found interesting was the lack of cabs at terminal 2 but as we were one of the first out we were called a cab and within seconds we were on our way to PH. "No tunnel obviously". I didn't expect or get a reply.....
Reply
Day 1 continued....

Despite the cabbie doing his best to break my foot with the cases it was an uneventful ride to PH and with a fare of $16.80 I handed him a $20 and he seemed happy. We declined the offer of luggage assistance and headed into the PH lobby for check in. I do have to agree with some people who think there is no 'wow' factor checking in at PH, it really is rather understated compared to checking in at say MGM or Luxor but thankfully the 1 hour+ queues had not formed yet (this was after all Spring Break & March Madness time) and we pretty much got to the front within seconds. The guy who checked us in was excellent (again we had been warned of grumpy staff) and after initial worries that he couldn't find our reservation it popped up on the screen. I felt very good at this point, certainly not as tired from travelling as I have done in the past few trips to the USA so I was awake enough to ask for an upgrade. I did consider the $20 bribe..I mean sandwich but I just asked pleasantly. After confirming what we already knew about Spring Break and March Madness and it being a busy weekend he offered us a Smoking Optional room on the 33rd floor with a Bellagio Fountain view or a 12th floor view of the mountains. We are both non smokers so were a bit put off by the Smoking Optional room but he insisted it would have been cleaned throughly and if we did have an issue to ring up and they would come up and do some additonal spraying to rid the room of any smoking odour. That it was a Bellagio view room made it a no brainer. Finally, after being given lots of coupons and paperwork he mentioned the fact that we had breakfast included in our rate. This is just the $9pp per day breakfast at Starbucks but we hadn't booked it and it was a bonus, all we had to do was charge back to our room and it would come off. Now we were not about to give up our breakfast plans at the likes of Hash House a Go Go or the buffets but we thought we would just utilise for drinks at breakfast when walking the Strip and in fact it turned out we could use it anytime of the day. Seriously good....

Day 1 continued...(I'm sure I could type more characters in a message body before?)

I really don't get the issues people have with the Starbucks breakfast. Sure, $9pp isn't going to buy you much but as we found out it was good for a large Latte, large Juice and two pastries/muffins each day. All for nothing. What we did encounter however was seriously large lines for the Starbucks in PH, probably because many people are doing this deal, more of that later though.
A great benefit of having the lobby below the casino in PH is you can get lifts to your room without having to go through the casino so we pressed floor 33 and within seconds we were outside our room (public areas/corridors are nicely done in PH, quite dark but certainly better than some we have stayed at). Now, there is always some anxiety when you put that card key into the door, firstly will it work (and it is a hassle to go back down) and secondly, when you open up is the room going to to meet your approval. Well it did. Sure the rooms are darker, not helped by very dark furniture and a smallish window but any doubts we had soon left us when we looked out of the window at the Bellagio. This was the view we wanted! The only downside to the view was that the window really needed a good clean from the outside, something we had been warned to look out for. The rest of the room was nice, we had the Titanic themed room so had a wall mounted Kathy Bates coat (Unsinkable Molly Brown) from the film and some other props and photographs all which lit up at the flick of a switch. The bed was divine (pillows less so) and we had plenty of space. The bathroom was huge, with a separate shower cubicle, toilet and a standalone bath. The cleanliness issues we had also been warned about were non existent and all in all we were very happy, and who wouldn't be at just over $50 a night. The one thing we did notice over the week was that the furniture did get very dusty but the maid always kept on top of this.....

Day 1 continued....

After we got over the view from the room we thought we had better unpack so we did that and then for some reason Kel found some football on the TV and it was Premier League highlights from the day. I'm sure she would have waited for the Norwich goals to come on all night but she did eventually switch it off. After unpacking and resting a bit (these arrival days do take it out of you) we opted to head to the casino to have a wander and get orientated (after all people have complained of getting lost in this property) and pick up our Total Rewards cards. I had signed up for these online before leaving, amazingly we had never signed up before but then again this was our first stay in a non MGM property. The lady on the TR desk was pleasant enough but did say we had signed up previously. We had but this was when PH was privately owned and not part of the Caesars group, so there was no $5 free slot play to be had but at least we got our cards. We then went back up to the room for showers and then the plan was for a small go on the 25c slots and a walk to the Palazzo to eat in the Grand Lux Cafe. Amazingly, within seconds of sitting down we were offered a drink by a CW, two Bud Lights and a $5 tip and the CW asking us if we wanted change. We didn't have any $1 bills, very unlike us so she got a good tip on that round but we were soon spent up and on our way to the Strip.
The first glimpse of the Strip remains amazing and having spent so many occasions South Strip with the MGM hotels, it was nice to be a little more central. We were directly across from Cosmo and Bellagio, next door to Paris (but you all know this anyway) so it made a nice change. We headed off North to the Palazzo and were not really surprised that it was heaving on the Strip. Everybody seemed to be up for partying where was we just wanted a quiet meal and to get to bed, but that is what you get for arriving on a Saturday......
Reply
Day 1 continued....

After working our way through the hoardes of people on the Strip (we always seemed to be swimming against the tide on this trip) we found ourselves at the Venetian and after walking through here into the Palazzo. The Grand Lux was easy to find and more importantly, there was no wait. I really do like this about Vegas, there is such a diverse and substantial number of restaurants that you very rarely have to wait (or so we thought...more on that later in the trip). We were seated on a two in a row and it was very quiet I felt, but I suppose this is what you would class as the Palazzo's 24 hour cafe and people were probably looking for more than that on a Saturday night. Annoyingly, we had the loudest American lady next to us, you know the kind that just have to be that little bit louder to drive home a point but we did laugh at their pathetic attempts to eat their entrees.
I had a spicy buffalo chicken sandwich and fries and Kel had a pulled Pork BBQ sandwich again with fries and with numerous Diet's (Cokes) the bill was around $32 so we left a $40 and our server was delighted. I really wanted to do a dessert here but it was never going to happen. The food was excellent but we expected that being in the same group as the Cheesecake Factory and we both agreed that we would probably try the Venetian restaurant later in the trip as well. You really do feel as though you are eating in an upscale establishment but that is Vegas for you.
After leaving we walked South on the Strip back to PH again doing our best to not be misers as everybody was having a good time but we were starting to feel it now. A quick go on the 25c slots yielded a decent win for Kel and we retired to the room, well and truly knackered. It was 9.30pm and we were in bed, we knew we would wake up at 5am and we would be raring to go. What we didn't expect was to be kept awake by loud music coming from (we think) the Cosmo so it was a difficult first nights sleep. A good start overall though.....

Day 2 Sunday 25th March 2012

So we were awake at 4.30am, the Cosmo had kept us up but as it was a Saturday night we couldn't moan that much. I opened the blinds on the window and just stared at the Bellagio, Caesars and Cosmo for what seemed like hours whilst Kel drifted in and out of sleep. The thing with waking up on a Sunday in Vegas is you can get on with things, in most other US cities it would be like a ghost town until 10-11am. We had already planned to hit the Peppermill for breakfast, a Vegas tradition and somewhere my Mum & Dad visited on their first and only trip. It was also somewhere you could often see the Killers hanging around in, I didn't expect it to be honest and I wasn't disappointed. It was still early though and as we were hungry and knew we had a good walk north to the Peppermill we went to Starbucks and took advantage of our free breakfast. Feeling refuelled but also knowing we needed to walk off the first breakfast of the day we headed over to the Cosmo to sign up for Identity. The lady at the Identity desk was lovely and we got our cards, $5 free slot and some free gifts before heading off to the 25c slots. Amazingly, Kel managed to turn $10 ($5 of our own and the free slot play) into over $100. She was storming. Between us we had also amassed over the 25 points needed for a spin of the wheel for more freebies but this would have to wait until late morning as it wasn't set up yet. We bottled the $100 rebate deal, I just couldn't convince Kel enough. Our impressions of Cosmo was just wow, it was amazing. Everything about the place was first class and we both agreed we would love to stay there.
So again we headed out north which seemed to be our route of choice for a lot of the trip, probably because we have spent so much time around South Strip. We arrived at the Peppermill about 10am and there was a wait, only 10 minutes though and it was good to see this often overlooked gem busy on this Sunday morning.....

Day 2 continued....

I had biscuits and sausage gravy and Kel had French Toast which was huge. Mine looked awful (like wallpaper paste) but tasted very nice and Kel did her best to finish hers. It was around $30 all in, so not a bad price for a gut busting breakfast. The queue was outside the door when we left, seriously popular place and as mentioned already good to see. As we were next door to the Ross Dross shop we thought we would take a look but were also aware of a new Dross opened up near the MGM. What I later realised was the one near the MGM was awful, too crowded with stock and 45min waits to pay, no thanks, so although we did take a look at this one we did agree we would come back at a later date. We both tried a few things on but nothing was really happening, it was perhaps a bit too early in the trip to be shopping.
Next stop was TI to sign up for their players club now that they are no longer MGM owned. We were given $5 free slot and then got to spin a wheel on a screen for a further $5 (this was the lowest prize available). We also did a quick slot tournament on special machines and I racked up nearly 1000 points which I thought was good, only to see the best of the day was on 4000. I was not going to win that. The $10 free slot was gone in minutes so we hopped on the free tram to Mirage and took a look around there before continuing south on the Strip to Caesars, bypassing Bellagio (for now) and back to Cosmo to spin the wheel. The lady on the wheel was really chatty and nice and desperately wanted us to get one of the decent prizes but yes, we both spun in a further $5 free slot so played with that and we both had a few wins (and beers). I think the two TITO's were for about $130 in total after leaving the Cosmo, so not bad for $5 each of our own money. After this we found our way into Crystals and then the tram to Monte Carlo, where we had our first experience of the greyhound machine, more on that in a bit.....
Reply
Day 2 continued....

The greyhound video machine is just that. You can bet a $1 minimum across a number of bets if you want and the race is played out on a big screen in front of you. You just have to select win, place or show and there is a jackpot chance if you bet minimum of $2.50 on a race. Kel somehow put $1 in and won with a win on an outsider of around $9. We had a beer each from the CW (the CW service at the Monte Carlo was excellent all week) and agreed we would come back and play this properly during the trip (and we needed to get new MLife cards also) but as time was getting on and we were starting to feel it, we decided to head back to PH for a rest. The maid had been so with a newly made bed we had a few minutes of sleep (Kel more than me) and I counted out our winnings from a very profitable first day in Vegas. Amazingly, we didn't return to the Cosmo again the whole trip which astounds me now with the luck we had that first morning, perhaps it was best to remember it for the good times?
Whilst Kel was asleep I was thinking about where to eat that evening and after looking through my LVA coupon book I mentioned Cravings the Buffet at Mirage and after initial doubts, Kel agreed. The coupon was for 2 for 1, so with the dinner buffet priced at $26.99 we were going to save quite a bit with that LVA coupon alone. It would, in 7 visits, be our first dinner buffet as well having normally just stuck to breakfast.
So again we set off north on the strip and although our legs did ache it really wasn't a long walk from PH to Mirage. Surprisingly, we found the queue to be quite reasonable and we only waited about 10 minutes before being seated. The woman on the checkout commented on the LVA coupon saying we did well to keep it intact in the book as many people just bring the coupon which makes it invalid and we agreed with her when she said it was outstanding value. $29 for two of us to eat and drink as much as we want, nice....

Day 2 continued....

I liked the dining room @ Cravings, I suppose it was a little drab overall but the stations were neatly set out with plenty of choice. I won't bore you with details but I think the Mexican Beef Enchiladas were my favourite overall, and Kel would probably say the hand carved meat station was her pick. We did overdo it though, by the time we came round to dessert I couldn't move and with about 5 Diet's inside me I was really struggling so the walk back to PH was a bit tough going. For our first dinner buffet experience in Vegas it was excellent though, great service and good fresh food. The turnover of guests is amazing to watch but I did find it a little strange that a group came in, had one plate of food and then cleared off. Maybe it was comped but they didn't get any kind of value or perhaps they just didn't want to be bloaters like us?
Back to PH for some slot action with ever tightening jeans and Kel was winning consitsently again. The CW service was a bit hit and miss that Sunday night and with Kel being well up and myself just feeling ill (and losing), we got a drink and headed back to the room for what we hoped would be a better nights sleep. It was overall, but again we were waking up so early. I had commented on other forums about how we always react well to arriving in the USA but on this occasion it was working the other way and would continue in that vein for the rest of the trip. The bed was too die for though, so although we were awake we just laid there chilling until it was time to get going for day 3.....

Day 3 Monday 26th March 2012

Amazingly, after a gut busting buffet @ Cravings the night before we decided today would be the day we would utilise our Restaurant.com $10 certificate for breakfast at Hash House a Go Go in Imperial Palace. Absolute madness. So off we set again north on the Strip (this was becoming very familar now the walk) and after looking for an entrance to IP we just followed someone up an escalator which led to the casino. We found a sign for HHaGG and followed that and then up another escalator to the restaurant. I'm sure there was an easier way. Wait time was 5 minutes which was good. We were really looking forward to this having seen HHaGG on Man vs Food but were also a bit wary after over eating the night before. I had the Sage Fried Chicken & Waffles with maple reduction and leeks and Kel had Andy's Sage Fried Chicken without eggs, portions were enormous. Kel also had a Banana Latte (her best coffee ever apparently) and I had some Diet's as usual. There has been criticism that HHaGG are big on portion but low on taste but we totally disagree, it truly was a remarkably good breakfast albeit at $35 with the discount of $10 not a cheap one. Service was excellent and overall I really enjoyed our wander through the IP. I'm sure we have been in there before but many years back, it certainly isn't as bad as some people make out.
Today we had decided to head down to Town Square to do a bit of shopping. I was particularly keen to visit Old Navy as this has always been good to us in the past and I needed some new boxers. We bought a 24 hr pass for the SDX/Deuce and boarded outside Caesars. I can't remember the logistics of it all but we boarded a Deuce or SDX which was only going as far as Mandalay Bay, so had to get off at Excalibur and wait for another bus and when this came along it was rammed with people going to the South Outlets so it was standing room only and not very comfortable.....
Reply
Day 3 continued....

I assumed incorrectly that some people would get off at Town Square but it turned out nobody did and with us being stuck right in the middle we had to push our way through the whole bus to get off. I got some good pictures of the Strip in the distance from the bus stop and then we headed into Town Sqaure. The first disappointment (although we were half expecting it) was Eddie Bauer had closed down. It seems EB has no joy in Vegas as there used to be a shop in the Miracle Mile (or Desert Passage as it was then) and that closed also. I don't know why, EB has always been very good throughout the USA. We found out as we were walking through Town Square that it was a ghost town, it was 11am on a Monday morning admittedly but there was nobody there. We found Old Navy and we were the only two people in the shop, a first for Old Navy. Worse still, it was a smaller Old Navy so my hopes were fading quickly that I would be able to stock up my wardrobe here. Once again (and like Seattle last year) I was amazed to find absolutely no XXL boxers available in the whole store and with a poor mens department I came out empty handed. Kel had better joy but it was another disappointing visit to an Old Navy in the USA. After that we went to a few other shops and Kel got some t-shirts from American Eagle or Hollister, I can't remember, they all seem the same to me and then ended up in Whole Foods taking a look at the yummy food on offer. Obviously, after a HHaGG breakfast neither of us were hungry so Kel just got a drink but I really do love wandering around Whole Foods, thanks to Top Chef for letting us know about this great grocery store. Town Square was one big let down but we had already decided we would head to the North Premium Outlets later that day so there was still time to stock up on shopping....
Reply
Day 3 continued....

We were the Town Square side of Las Vegas Boulevard so thought we would just hop back on an SDX and come back up via the South Premium Outlets and Transit Center but as it turned out we had to disembark at the Transit Center and get on another SDX to come back to the Strip. Not a big deal, just annoying especially as there was an SDX the other side of the road to Town Square a few minutes after we started waiting for it. We both agreed we would stay on the SDX all the way to the North Premium Outlets, no mean feat but surprisingly it didn't take too long. We did mention on the way over to the Outlets that there seemed to be a lot of work happening to the area north of Downtown which was good to see and the SDX stops at the Premium Outlets were practically futuristic! We had never been to either Outlet Mall in LV on our previous trips, so were hoping for good things and I think we came away reasonably satisfied. I bought some t-shirts and boxers from Nautica, a t-shirt from Columbia and Kel got some stuff in Columbia also. It was a little warmer today so walking around an outside mall became tiring especially after being at Town Square earlier so we didn't stay for too long. We then headed to Downtown to purchase tickets for Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget. We used the LVA coupon 2 for 1 Premium seating which we were informed was the best value with the coupon, total cost $31pp which seemed good value. Gordie has long been on the must see list after watching the fly on the wall documentary The Casino from a number of years back when he was first at the Nugget. After using some further LVA slot play at Four Queens (no wins) we headed back to PH for a much needed rest, although Kel did go to Starbucks on the way back for another free coffee....

Day 3 continued....

At this point we had been in the USA for 3 days and we hadn't had a burger so we both agreed tonight would be burger night and although we contemplated Holsteins (Cosmo) and BLT (Mirage) we opted to revisit a favourite from our previous trip and headed to Burger Bar in Mandalay Place. We still had use of the SDX/Deuce but taking a left out of PH (for once!) we just kept walking until we got to our old hunting ground of the Tropicana Intersection so crossed over and boarded the tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay. As usual there was a crowd of people hanging around outside Burger Bar (always a good sign) and we were told 40 minutes which was about the same as last time. I don't mind waiting but aside from 4 chairs, there is nowhere to sit down when waiting at this restaurant but fortunately two of the chairs were given up and we had a seat. As it turned out within 20 minutes we were being seated, amusingly before a group of 4 who seemed to be getting very annoyed that groups were being seated before them despite them being there when we arrived. A similar thing happened last time here so I don't think they quite have it right somehow but we were seated and being selfish when it comes to eating, that was all I cared about!
Our sever was lovely and was called Harmony, Kel had a Turkey Burger on Sesame with Bacon and Avo and Fat Fries, I had Angus on Onion with Monterey Jack, Jalapeno Bacon, Onions and Zuchini Fries. We also shared some onion rings. The meal was outstanding, as good as before and Burger Bar will remain my restaurant of choice for a burger for some time yet. Not bad for a Frenchman reinventing an American classic? Total including drinks was $44, so we left $52 and Harmony was happy. I know Kel would like me to include reference to a guy we called 'Meathead' who eventually sat next to us and seemed to order every topping available from the menu and his burger probably ended up costing $30 on it's own.....

Day 3 continued....

After leaving Burger Bar it was down to the Luxor to get new MLife cards and then a quick walk through Excalibur before heading to NYNY where we had agreed to gamble tonight. Again I was awful and my $50 went in no time at all, Kel again had some joy and she came away well up again. The CW service here was non existent which surprised me as it has always been very good in the past so we didn't hang about that long and ended up at PH for a final gamble before hitting the bed again. It was tonight I played the Top Dollar machine for the first time which gives you a neat bonus level (4 offers, basically like greed) and I had some luck. Kel found a similar machine which I can't remember the name of but this also gave a bonus, 5 x lots of credits. CW service at the PH was hit and miss again so after we got a drink we took it up and had it in the room. Another tiring but fun day!

Day 4 Tuesday 27th March 2012

Today was going to be a bit hectic as we wanted to go and see the Las Vegas Wranglers Ice Hockey at the Orleans Arena which pucked off(!) at 7.05pm. We also thought this would be a good opportunity to utilise the 50% off up to $50 at the Palms general LVA coupon which to a lot of people is reason enough to buy the LVA membership. We opted to use another LVA coupon for breakfast which was $10 off per person at the Spice Market Buffet in PH which basically meant we were both paying $5.95 + tax for breakfast, an outstanding deal. To our surprise there was no queue but again it was quite early. Although disappointed with the actual dining room at the Spice Market which seemed so drab compared to the rest of PH, the food and service was excellent.
We headed upto NYNY to play some basketball which Kel comfortably won and then we found our way to Monte Carlo for some more greyhound action. I think we got in there about 11am and at 2.30pm we left. I had put in $5 and was sitting on $25 after drinking 4 or 5 daytime beers, Kel was also having some luck so we just kept playing. You are never going to win much unless you bet larger amounts on this machine but for a few hours of enjoyment and drinks it is tough to beat. Time was getting on but Kel wanted to buy a handbag from Dross near the MGM which she had seen in the other shop near the Peppermill earlier in the week. We both had a look around but it was just too busy and there was far too much stock to wade through so I bailed outside quite early leaving Kel to pay for her handbag. 40 minutes later I went back up as she hadn't materialised and she was still in line. Unbelieveable! From having lots of time to get showered and over to Palms, we were now pushing it a bit.
Back to PH and straight into the shower and then we opted for a cab to Palms, another first visit. Cost was $15 including tip....
