Hi Folks
I am new here so be gentle with me! Next Summer I am thinking of staying somewhere close to all the Theme Parks (Chessington, Thorpe Park, Legoland + Cadbury World). I would like some sort of self catering holiday home accomodation to suit 2 adults and 2 children. Does anyone have any suggestions about where would be a good central point to stay ?
Thanks.
I'm no expert on London, hopefully someone will come along that is.
Depeneding on where you live I would go for being close to the three and do Cadburys either on your way down, or home, or another time! Otherwise, to be central, you will be travelling far more than necessary to the London parks.
Sorry - silly me! Looks like I'll not be going there then! We are hoping to fly from Belfast to whatever London Airport is cheapest, then hire a car.
Incidentally, Thorpe Park and Chessington are not actually in London. They are in Surrey. Thorpe Park is close to Chertsey in Surrey and Chessington World Of Adventures is in, well oddly enough Chessington.
Both Chessington and Thorpe Park can be reached quite easily from Central London. You can catch a train from Waterloo Main Line (NOT Waterloo East) to Chessington and the park is a 10-15 minute walk from the station. Just follow all the crowds as you get off the train.
I'm not sure if there is a Train station near to Thorpe Park. However, if you have your own vehicle or are thinking of hiring a car, you should find them both very easily.
I cannot give anymore advise on Legoland as I have never been there. I've never been to Windsor for that matter, but I don;t think its all that far from Chertsey.
Windsor itself is beautiful, as is most of the places along the Thames river (which is easily accessable to the M25, which is the road you will be using to get to the Theme parks)
Kingston Upon Thames is a nice central location between the 3 places, & it also have good access to central London
Its not a theme park in fact its not much at all wasnt very impressed this was a few years ago mind.
