We are going self catering to sta eulalia, my cousin has told me that we would be allowed to take bacon/sausages etc with us.
I'm not really sure if this is allowed, she's never had any problems taking the stuff through in her hand luggage, but because of recent probs at airport didn't want to take stuff if it's not allowed.Only want to take enough for first couple a days - just to keep my son happy til we get our bearings
I have always taken crisps and a few packet rice/pasta for snacks for the kids but never fresh meat.
Be really grateful if some-one could help with this
Cheeers to anyone that can help
Jolou
I don't understand why you would want to bring sausages and bacon with you though or is it something that you always have on your person? We are quite civilised here we have supermarkets, running water and everything!
I have been to sta eulalia before - 8 yrs ago & I know that they have super markets there, just savin a bit of cash, so i can spend it on more important things - like beer
I'm not stupid, just a bit skint
I would contact your airline and ask them, as they will probably be able to tell you the current situation and also if they are prepared to carry it - some airlines won't carry fresh produce in their hold apparently. Obviously this also might be a problem due to the current situation.
Don't think we're going to take any with us, though i spoke to my cousin last night and she swears it's ok??
Not goin to risk it, I know that they'll just take it off of us but the embaressment - not worth it
cheers
Jo
on the main road where you are stopping is a butchers that sells bacon ect.why on earth do you want to carry all that extra weight.good thing about it .its fresh
I think i have offended lots of people by asking this question, wish i'd never asked now
Jolou
jolou dont worry that what these sites are for,if you dont ask you;ll never know.depends on how much cooking your going to do.are you just doing breakfast then eating out for dinner or what. ( a few times i have cooked a sunday dinner with yorkshires.we had a oven you see.you just might fancy taking some gravy .i have never stay in st e.but been there many times in car for breakfast on the front and shopping for food and stuff.any more questions on ibiza either post or ask ...cheers woody
I suggest you buy the sealed packs of bacon and freeze them before packing. Buy packages of sausages too and freeze those for transport.
Then when you cook them you get your Brit neighbours asking whereabouts you can buy the stuff as the smell is driving them nuts!
will definately try & find the butchers you said were good, won't be cooking no sunday lunch though it;s hard enough cooking breakfast
Only usually cook breakfast & light snack in afternoon
Stayed in Ibiza 8yrs ago & really looking forward to going back this year, see how much things have changed.
Thanks again for your replies, I feel much better now
Jo
Having said that though the local bacon and sausages are very nice.
