My son wants to sell his extensive comic book collection. Does anyone know where to start? We are looking at 3,000 comics and 300 graphic novels.
Any help would be appreciated.
eBay or if you have a local collectors fair/flea market may be good if he wants to sell them himself.
Check on eBay for Completed sales to see how much people will actually pay for the comic books before making any other inroads into selling them!

I agree do a search on e-bay to see what other collections are going for then list them for local collection only as the cost to post large collections will be very expensive.
Thanks guys, but I've had a look on Ebay and the prices are actually quite disappointing. 3,500 comics and books represent a huge chunk of my son's life and he feels he doesn't want to 'give them away'. I note someone has asked for £22,500 for their collection - not a hope in hell!!
Looking for someone to offer a fair price, not a silly price. No real pressure to sell at the moment so will keep watching Ebay, etc.
Strange though how some comics are going for realistic prices. I suppose the answer is to find someone who really wants the books we are selling.

As with all collectables, condition will mean everything. Rather then sell everything as a single collection he would be best doing a bit of research and check which particular individual comics are sought after etc and that he might have in his collection. If he also take photos of any that command good prices, potential buyers can then see if they are well thumbed etc or not.
A bit like the way the best prices are obtained for the toys that were never even take out of the box let alone played with, so those comics that show the least sign of actually having been read will always attract the most interest and best prices. If he does have any that have any sort of rarity value then he will get the best price by sending them to a specialist auction.
