Well last April the day time weather was hot, didnt notice any wind to speak of. The sea was warmish and the pools were quite cold at the particular hotel I was in.

Presumably though there must be hotels that heat their pools at the Management's discretion, as most of the large 5* chain hotels have 4 or 5 pools each.

I went a couple of years ago in April and it was extremely hot, bearable though, great time to visit.

We were there 1st two weeks of April . cant say i noticed it being windy during the day although we did have a couple of days when the sea was really choppy and everyone was brought in from the sea. hotels jettys were crashing about . believe it was something to do with a north wind :?(somebody please correct me if i have that wrong) which apparently is the one you dont want in sharks bay where we were staying. evenings could be a little windy though and most evenings you needed a jumper or a cardi. cant say i noticed sand storms and according to the rest of my family who dive the sea was warm.

ps sorry forgot to add. The first two days our main pool was freezing. but then as more children arrived for the school holidays it was like a bath so i believe the manager decided to heat it once the hotel was busier.

Last time I was in Sharm was the last two weeks in april, 3 years ago. We were staying on Ras um Sid and our hotel beach was sheltered by the bay, but it was absolutely scorching! There was a breeze when you walked to higher ground but it was very welcome. I agree that it is a great time to visit Sharm.

I agree with the others. April is a perfect time to go. It is plenty hot enough and yet not too hot like the summer months! Go for it, you will have a great time!
