Hi katiesmum,
I have stayed at the miramar, and i really loved it. We spent all of our time in the lagoon right in front of our room. We were in a beautiful little nubian style bungalow. I have some pics (i think, or was it all on video) hmmm now thats got me thinking lol. If i can dig them out, i can e mail you some if you like. When we arrived at the Miramar, it was at the end of our holiday, and although we had full intentions of doing absolutely everything there was to do there, we did nothing but laze around all day in and out of the lagoon, and as it was only just outside our room we didn't have walk far The lagoon areas can be very quiet, if you like that sort of thing. All the time we were there, it felt like we were the only people staying at the hotel lol, it was great. Then when you reach the main hotel area, its back to hustle and bustle again.
Please let me know if you would like me to find the pics for you.

Offer of pictures most gratefully appreciated. I have sent you a PM with my e`mail address.

Cluster 7 was built about 3 years ago and has it's own pool / food / bar, and is quiet. Cluster 8 was only opened a few months and is dead quiet with 3 pools, a bar and an italian restaurant. We stayed in cluster 1, about 2 minutes from reception and 2 minutes from cluster 8, so it was ideal. Cluster 7 is about a 10 minute walk from reception (and breakfast) though.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. Think I`ll have to let Katie choose like she did for Sharm. We showed her two hotels and said which one, she went for the one with the `most pools` easy logic when you are 8 and have nothing else to worry about in life.
sheraton is a really nice hotel, setting is lovely and so are the people. went in december and even though it was really busy the staff still make the time to get to know you. the rooms are really big and you have a walk in shower and a bath in our room and it was only a standard. it had 2 double beds as well which was really good as normally there is a fold away put in a room as the 3rd bed.
the beach is lovely although i prefer the pool on holiday!
definatly go out and eat as the hotel can be a little expensive and there are so many great places to eat out in el gouna which are great value for money and the food is great quality. you never leave anywhere empty
hope this helps

Hi, you`ve just answered one of my queries, about the beds! normally Kaite ends up on sofa bed or put-you-up kind of contraction. She would be made up to have a double bed for her and her teddy. (this is a well travelled teddy who even has his own passport!)
any other queries let me know
Yes i too thought it was great having 2 double beds in the rooms.
Nile_Beaty, I sent you and e`mail yesterday hope you got it. The pictures are great. Thank you for sending them.
Hi boozeyboo, can you remember where abouts your room was, near the pool, lagoons or beach. Thanks
yeah we had a room that looked out over the lagoon but to the back was our swimming pool belive it was room 5303. have you booked yet!!
We havn`t booked yet, computer has been out of action for a few days so not been able to get any prices. How long does it take to walk around the compex? it is quite hard to workout how big it actually is.
Thanks
i have to admit though i was more of a pool person at this hotel as i prefered it to the beach!! however saying that our last 2 visits to egypt no one could get me off the beach!!
when was it you are going? please try the tok tok's though. they are so much fun and kikis restuarent in downtown it is superb!! glad your computer is back in action i would be lost without mine!!
I`m just really trying to get an overall picture of everything, then before we travel I would e`mail hotel re: room (did that this year and go a brill room in a brill spot - only 2-3 min walk from breakfast!!). Who did you book with, Portland seem quite good but only fly on a Tuesday which is no good for us.
Think my task for the weekend (unless it is sunny) will be to see how cheap I can get this week at half term in May.
Thanks again.
the hotel is big but it seems much bigger when you arrive!! you know the feeling of having no idea where you are going!!
we travelled with portland i think the cost was about 289 each!! the week before christmas we fley back on christmas eve!! it really was a great hotel!! the hotel itself is a little expensive but as everything is so excessable you go out where everything is so much cheaper!! they are almost giving things away!!
i don't know if you are aware but there is also a shuttle bus you pay 5 egyptian pounds (50p) for a week and hop on and off as you wish all day everyday!! great value for money!!
i would definatly love to return here at some point!
me again meant to ask you have been to egypt before i take it, where have you been?
We went to Sharm /Naama Bay a few weeks ago, seems like a lifetime ago. Stayed at Hilton Sharm Dreams and loved it, the hotel was fantastic and we loved Egypt, normally we would go to Zante or another Greek Island but we are now hooked. El Gouna was one of the places I fancied trying this year but the other won. El Gouna looks lovely and we like the look of Miramar seems to be similar standard to the Hilton which was great in all aspects, rooms were large and spotless, the pools were warm and huge there was no probelem getting sunbeds at any time of the day (I can`t cope with the lets get up at 6am to bag a sunbed ), food was good, the staff were lovely... and feel sure that the Sheraton will be similar.
Is the main pool quite big? and do they provide pool/beach towels? now that was another bonus not having to lug them accross the world.
Thanks for all the info, where are you going this year?
well this year i have been to nuweiba twice already this year got back last monday nearly 2 weeks ago!!! the time has gone quick! in august we are going to taba heights staying at the hyatt regency for 2 weeks. then in sept/oct i am going to dubai and then going to egypt for a month to try and get a job and hopefully move out there!! if it doesn't work i will come home but who knows. its all experience!!
where else are you going this year then!!
let me know how the price bargaining goes!
Did you like Nuweiba, where did you stay and is there much there? have you been to Taba Hieights before? a friend of mine went last year not sure where she stayed but she loved it. The hotels look really good.
We are off to Turkey in August, so now I am dipping between this forum and the Turkey one. Just going in a self catering apt in Akyaka for 18 days, not quite the luxury of Egypt but I`m sure it will be nice.
Not really started trying to get prices yet, as I thought last night that it might be better to do 2 weeks in August, instead of 1 week in May. I appreciate it will be hotter but it was over 100 a few weeks ago and Turkey is also very hot and also more humid. Decisions, decisions..
i have stopped at taba heights before but not stayed there!! there isn't that much to do there as the place is mostly being built still at the moment so it is being developed with a couple of new hotels opening this year! you can do some of the excursions which from other places take longer!
it will be hot but i still say it is a completly different heat!! i would have liked to stayed in el gouna for 2 weeks just to get to et in all the great restaurents that are around!!
