Teen Daughter has got wind of the fact that Portugal manufactures shoes.
I'm sure someone has said the best place to visit is Portimao. Can anyone in the know let me know if it's worth taking out an afternoon to visit? Presumably there is more than just shoes there, nice beach or a good place for lunch perhaps?
Is it just shoe shops or are we taking 'factory outlets' like we have in the UK? Very confused as the previous times she was age 6 and 8 so shoes not high on the agenda. Any recommendations welcome
Portimao has loads of shoe shops. The main street from the station to the town centre is full of them - one of the reasons I don't like the place ! There are plenty of cafes and bars and the cafes at the harbour cook sardines straight from the fishing boats. There's no beach as such in Portimao-Praia da Rocha, just round the corner, is Portimao's beach.
Thanks Sagres. Not 100% sure we will venture there, but just wanted to check I had got the correct town should we wish to.
