If you are in an apartment you should be fine, it is the studios that are a bit like caves. You could always email the apartments directly and request a room at the top.
We was in a studio, and very loud music and whistles blowing until 6am every morning.
I will email them nearer the time , i dont go till june 09 .crispy that sounds i like my sleep did you ask to move rooms
I would definitely have asked to move rooms if I had that much noise going on. We stayed in a studio the first time we went and although it was a bit noisier it didn't go on late.
We did ask the rep if we could move, but was told that it was fully booked and that other rooms were no better, which we found out later was a lie,we looked into a room with the door open near the top pool and they were lovely and refurbished, people said that Firstchoice had these, hopefully you will get one of them.!!
I hope so crispy
Just had a look on Siesta beach apts website, the rooms they show are lovely, dont expect to get one that looks like them!!! ours was like a cavewith a metal tray in the ceiling and pipes running into it,maybe the overflow from the turkish bath above!!! hence the awful smell, mushroom mould inside kitchen cupboards, when we opened the breadbin a loaf of bread so black and mouldy, and mould on the cutlery!!sliding doors falling off the wardrobe, really makes me angry now what they expect people to stay in and we put up with it for 2 weeks!!should have complained more but we cant turn the clock back. All I can remember is it was room No 51??.
The room we stayed in a few weeks ago looked just like the ones on the website, in fact it could have been our room
Hi kedi .....did you find it expensive for soft drinks in the apartments and what our the prices like at the supermarket for drinks and basics .
The apartments were a bit expensive for soft drinks but we didn't have many drinks there. The little supermarket was also a bit more expensive but we went into the big one - Carrefour - and stocked up on supplies then just got water and bread from the one at the apartments.
On a good note, the pools were lovely, and we enjoyed the cooked breakfasts at both bars, they came around in the afternoons around the bottom pool with a trolley full of assorted fresh fruits and we would purchase a plate, all pealed and trimmed, can not comment on the evening meals,we always ate out,an excellent restaurant on the way to gumbet along the beach is the Minstrel.
hi .....does anyone no if there is a laundry at siesta beach, or is it cheaper to get it done outside .
There is a laundry service and I think it is about the same as going outside only more convenient.
kathy
Going to Siesta Apartments in Gumbet and was wondering where they were located if I were to stand facing the sea outside Magnific Hotel on the front. Anyone know as I stayed in Magnific and know location there?
Siesta beach appartments are situated at the very end of Gumbet bay, You have to walk up a steep hill to get to them, I had one of the ground floor apprtments and at first look these were very nice, 4 hours later the stench of sewers coming from the toilet drains was unbearable, After reporting this to reception whom sent the cleaner down to inspect it, She then sprayed something down the drain, Smell went away but returned once again 4 hours later, Went through same routine over and over again, Ended up hiring a car and going to Icmeler for 3 days and only returned on the last day, Try your best to steer clear of the groundfloor rooms and you should be Ok, Food is very good, If your into late sometimes to 3am very loud music from the bar this is the place for you to go to.
The studios are a big dark an cavelike, we stayed in one once in october and we noticed a bit of a whiff coming from the bathroom sometimes but not too bad, maybe it would have been bad mid summer though. If you could chnage to an apartment you would be much better off, they are lovley, spacious, clean and no smells.
The music is quite loud at the front bar at night but when we stayed at the top part of the apartments I wasn't too bad.
These appartmente used to be owned by brothers, Who went their seperate ways, They are or were split up into two different parts, You cant go from one to the other now, The top ones are the ones that the holiday companies here in the Uk use, They dont use the bottom ones at all, Although they also use some of the ground floor accomadation which is actually fenced off. So you cannot get into the top half from the main road thats why I had to walk up the steep hill, Thats when I was their 2 years ago.
sorry rwb46 but im sure your talking about somewhere else - siesta beach apartments are on the beach next door to tropicana beach - no steep hill or anything - they are very nice but an upper floor apartment is recommended
