We also stayed there the year before with Thomsons and were at the bottom of the complex, we could still walk up to the top and use the pool, and bar up there.
anyone advise on great but reasonably cheap places to eat near Siesta Beach Apartments in Gumbet??
You will be spoilt for choice when you get to Gumbet - there's loads of restaurants to choose from so take a note when you're looking round. Can't really recommend anything specific 'cos there's so many to choose from but we've never had a bad meal at any restaurant in Gumbet yet.
Gumbet isn't so big and you will find nice places all over. Near to Siesta beach you will find Mistral, Windy Bay and Cafe Columbia, which are all very nice.
Hi we are going to Siesta Beach Apartments in Gumbet in a few weeks, has anybody been to the apartments or Gumbet. When I booked it reviews were good since then ... not so good ...typical. Just wondered if anybody been recently and what they thought ? getting stressy now .. desperate for holiday not been for a few years, cant really afford, but what the hell ... just want it to be excellent .
Not been to the Siesta apartments but i have been to Gumbet twice now & have enjoyed both visits,
We stopped at the Art Bodrum hotel in Gumbet last year.Plenty to do for all the family and wild nights if you are single,Bar street is a fantastic place at night,I am off to Marmaris this year for a change.
Whereever you stay in Gumbet it will be a fantastic holiday
Hi Clarky, can't tell you about the apartments as we have our own house in Gumbet but they are in a nice location and Gumbet is a fantastic place. It really does cater for all ages and all tastes - you can have as frantic or relaxed a holiday as you want, or both if you fancy!! If you want to know anything special, just ask - as I said, we have a house in Gumbet and visit about five times a year so know the place fairly well.
Hi Clarky,I stayed there a couple of years ago.The 2 pools are really nice,we prefered the top one.Downside was our studio,it was the pits!!nothing at all like the picture of their rooms on their website, like a cave, and smelly,do hope you dont get one of them.If you are situated by the bottom pool,Dolphin Bar,you wont get any sleep, loud music, noisy, and blowing whistles until 6am,the bar staff encourage it!!.I think rooms at the top had been refurbished, did see inside them as we walked past, and they did look nice, lets hope you get one of them.Location is good,on the beach, and dolmus stop outside that will take you to Bodrum. From your apartments walk along the beachfront to nightlife, and you will pass Minstrel restaurant,we had some lovely meals in there, excellent value.
The apartments are lovely, clean and spacious, the studios are not so good though as someone else said they are a bit dark and cavelike so if posible try to make sure you have an apartment even if you have to pay a little extra, it will be worth it.
The bottom bar can also be a bit noisy. We didn't experience whistle blowing or people up until 6am but that was the time we went in October so it was quieter all round. We were thinking of staying there this year but as we are going in August we thought it may be a bit noisy for our two young children at night.
Overall thought the apartments are very good and if you are going to be out late yourselves the noise wont be a problem. At the top part of the complex it is a lot quieter anyway.
Gumbet is a nice resort, it can be as lively or quiet as you choose, obviously bar street is where the lively nightlife is but here are also quieter parts here you can enjoy a relaxing meal and drink. There are loads of good restaurants with all inds of menus from traditional Turkish to Chinese, Indian, Mexican, steak etc. There also bars for eveyone too, busy dancing bars, fun music bars or quiet beach front ones.
If there is anything else you want to know just ask as I lived in Gumbet for about 3 years so I may be able to help.
Hope you have a good holiday
Kedi
As Kedi said if you have booked a studio definetly upgrade to an apartment. We booked with Thomsons and when we went to the welcome meeting the rep said that Thomsons guests should only use the bottom bar and restaurant as the top pool and bar was for First Choice!!,it was advertised as 2 pools and bars so we decided to use the top one as it was nicer and took no notice of what she said,we heard some rumour that there had been some fall out between the owners and had chosen to split it in two!!.The location is good and hope you enjoy it
You can definitely use both pools, I thought the top one was nicer too, not so many people there and a bit quieter, plus the views are lovely.
thanks to all, any more info will be appreciated, will let you know our opinion when we get back.

If you have an apartment then you will be fine. Have a great holiday - we will be in Gumbet from 6th August but not staying at Siesta this time.
