We're going to Ag N at start of Oct and I've a few questions for the experts! :
1) I'm reasonably optimistic re the temperatures -- hoping for mid 20s. Is this right and will we see much rain in Oct? (have seen enough this summer to do me )
2) Been to Rethymno before & been to Knossos & Heraklion museum ---both fab & might do again.
Apart from Spinalonga which is a definite is there anywhere else that is a must-see in this area?
3) Is Sitia worth a visit & have read it might be possible to go there by boat? Or would car hire be a better option?
4)Any other general tips/recommendations that anyone can pass on would be most welcome
we passed through Sitia (well we stopped for coffee) and it looked a nice place. we are hoping to get to Karpathos next year and the ferry from there to Crete gose via Sitia to Ag N and onto heraklion so perhaps you would be abl to go by boat but the drive is nice if you hire a car and further east is a scenic drive.
enjoy
Sounds as if it might be worth the trip.
Supposed to be a resort where a lot of Greeks holiday.
last time we went to Crete mid oct 3 yrs ago daily temps reached 30 and we had 2 nights and one morning rain IN two weeks
Just the sort of info I want to hear, Wizard. That would be perfect!
