Our checking in online was a good move as went straight through to fast luggage drop so avoiding 100 plus queuing for normal checkin, flight ok apart from OH knocking glass of wine all over me!, food indifferent, seat length ok but hardest seat i have ever sat in, bonus was drinks service, great nothing to much trouble for the crew.

Transfer in doha went without a hitch and we were soon on our way to goa, this flight was a bit of a nightmare due to the four trolleys which spent most of the flight blocking the single aisle, some people getting irrate at not being able to get to the toilets, made worse as the front toilets were for first class use only, still we were soon at dabolim and went through immigration in about 15minutes, slight panic when conveyor stopped and one suitcase short, started again and last few appeared much to our relief, booked taxi waiting, so soon on our way, stopped at HDFC ATM shock 200rp charge for none indian cards must be a new way of ripping us off never had this before, checked into guesthouse its 5.30am and time for some overdue sleep.

We are staying at Veeniola a guest house in the small village of Tambolim about 3km from Cavelossim, its next door to the Dona San Maria hotel and set amongst paddy fields and coconut groves, its run by Francisca and her son Charles nothing appears to much trouble for them, facilitys include a small terrace where a basic continental breakfast is served (extras available) a new bar which is not yet up and running and wifi in public area's. There are a few restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance and the beach is a 20 min walk, very quiet but wonderful location, secenery and wildlife are stunning. buses to Cavelossim and Margo are nearby.

Walked into Carmona quite a large villinge 30 min walk away to get an Airtel sim card none available so got bus into Cavelossim found the Busines Center recommended on this site and was up and running within 20 min, 450 talktime, 1gb internet including sim card for 700rp great, can also use the sim in my dongle. couple of beers and some lunch then the bus back, down to the beach for the rest of the afternoon its great to be back in Goa

Camona beach today four or five shacks most not very appealing, went into Cool Breeze turned out to be a good choice food and service very good, but lads don't appear very happy, not many smiles about maybe they don't appreciate my sense of humour, o/h asked Tom where he came from and he procceded to tell us his family history dating back to the 13th century perhaps somthing got lost in the translation or maybe its "Karma". Its our wedding anniversary today so taxi to Cavelossim fare should be 600rp but only had to pay 500 as Matthew is our friend!!! went to Fishermans
Warf outstanding food and service live music and very good value most dishes around 200rp, even took to the dance floor!

Have now eaten in most of the local restuarants all ok but nothing special started going into the Dona san Maria hotel next door to our guesthouse for a night-cap and have had lunch a couple to times the owner Serafino has invited us to be his guest and use the pool etc which is handy,

Have been home for a week now had a good time but glad to be back more to follow!

Looking forward to hearing more Hopefully you are over the jetlag now- it always takes me a week to get back into things.
