Marmaris has all of the above restaurants. They do cater for vegetarians.

Turkish food is heavily veg based, they do wonderful meals without meat.

There are lots of brit type foody places in Marmaris but the size and choice of restaurants means you will be able to find lots of choice whatever type of food you want.

I've never found anywhere as good as Turkey for vegetarians. Most of the mezes (starters) are meat free.

Et siz yemek nevar? means what meat free meals do you have?

Et yemiyorum means I don't eat meat.

Some (partial) vegetarians, like me, eat fish. The fish is very good in Turkey.

A friend that came with us last year is veggie and she managed fine.

They do marvellous things with aubergines. 8)

I also saw the biggest cauliflower I have ever come across in Turkey - sounds odd but we had it somehow coated in an egg and chilli glaze and fried. It was lovely. Tried to recreate it at home but it didn't come out half as good - probably because our vegetables are not a patch on theirs.

Wow! That sounds good. I once had a huge white onion finely sliced into segments and deep fried whole as a starter for four of us. It was wonderful although that wasn't actually in Turkey.

The best known aubergine dish is İmam Bayıldı - it's very good.

I think people often have a misconception about Turkish cuisine that it is all about meat, meat and more meat when that isn't really the case.

Although in the larger resorts obviously there is your choice of all day breakfasts and all things Western if that is your choice.

Holiday in Turkey and you won't be having to live on omelettes if you are veggie. :D

Me and my Girlfriend have been the past two years together, and are going this year - she's a vegetarian and never has any problems.

Just like any good restaurant, if you go in and there's no obvious vegetarian options - just ask, and they will make you an a vegetarian option of one of their meals.

Don't worry!
