I went there one night last year. It's basically wild west themed, cowboys and indians and all that. The set was used in a film, and looks very realistic. I went on a Thompson excursion, and there was a BBQ, free bar, entertinment including a performance with stunts from Cowboys and Indians as well as entertainment in the bar. Try to go in the evening I'd recommend as it wouldn't be as interesting during the day. I intend to have a night there again this year.

I've haven't been on this excursion yet but someone recommended the daytime visit if you have children of a young age as night times can be very busy and a little rowdy and it takes forever to get to the 'free' bar which is usually included in the excursion price.

We went to this a few years ago ... and its a brilliant night out !! Cowboys and Indians theme .. with Horse Stunts .. Knife Throwing where they burst ballons and lots more .. really is good !!

Didnt enjoy the "meal" part of it .. but mad up for that with all the free drink they have !!

Defo Recommend it !!

Did you stay in the resort of PDI when you went? Is it far away?

I'm thinking of going to the daytime trip there, but we're only in GC for a week and there's other stuff I want to do, camel safaris, island tour etc. Saw the daytime trip on telly yesterday (Sky Travel) and it looked good. I knew I should have booked 2 weeks - anyway, we might try the evening do instead.

When I went I stayed in PDI, and it didn't take long to get there at all. Certainly much closer that Palmitos park.

It is a fair comment about the rowdyness, but with a free bar, it's inevitable. However, there were no problems like you'd get in an English town pub. We took a 4 year old there last year, and he enjoyed the display and fell asleep later in the bar. THe only slight embarrising moment is when he picked up something in the shop, asked what it was, and it turned out to be a sex themed toy!!!

With regards to getting to the bar, you may have to wait a couple of minutes, but the trick is to order much more than you want = less trips. As for the BBQ, I'm sure you can sneak up for 2nds...

Yes we went to PDI when we went ... cant remember how long it was as we were a little drunk when we went and ... well we slept on the way back ??

Sorry to be a dissenting voice, but..

We went and were not impressed at all - the show wasn't too bad, but the food was dreadful and the drinks weren't chilled and the queues were huge !

I'll temper it by saying it was 40 degrees when we got there at 18:30 and that didn't help - but we definitely considered it the worst excursion we went on and not worth the money.

Loved everything else about GC !!

how much does it cost?is the free bar and bbq included in the price during the day?or is it just the late night show?

Hello

We wnt to sioux city with 3 children all age 4 and they loved it, they thought it was fantastic.
The bbq is and drink is only included during the night excursion to be honest the food was rubbish and there was flies all over it and you couldnt take your drinks into the show the reps were making you drink up or throw them away (we didnt go with a travel agent just booked in a tour office but there was still reps about stopping you).
I would definitly go again but wouldnt pay the extra to go at night i would just go during the day.

Hope this helps

hello all
i have been to sioux city many times whether as an excursion or guiding it for the TO i work for

sioux city is a fantastic bargain when you think of everything you get included!!!

in all my times of going to sioux city i have never seen flies on the food obviously some are seen at the petting zoo but thats expected
and with regards the reps stopping people going into the show with drinks this is for health and safety reasons as once the steps are wet they become very slippy and it does not matter whether youve booked with a to or even if your not british you will still be stopped and asked to put your drink in the bin or drink it before entering

all in all the night is fab and ofcourse is the film set to a fistful of dollars its got something for everybody of all ages here wheter your your 1 or 100 if you dont enjoy it there must be something wrong with you

costs approx 48euros ad
28euros ch

Hi CJ

I wasnt questioning why or suggesting that it was just british who couldnt take drinks into the show i realise it is health and saftey, but for poeple who like to drink a lot and get there monies worth i was just explaining there is a period when you are in the show that you cant drink and then the queues after it are obviously very big so personally i didnt think the food and drink was really worth it.
Also there was flies all over the food when i went.
But we did love sioux city it is a great excursion and i would do it again just during the day which is what lots of people who we got friendly with that either lived in Gran Canaria or went there a lot told us we should have done.

We are going to Maspalomas in October. Have been to Sioux city before but booked it for the Friday night with dinner through the reps.
We want to go back during the day but does anyone know if you can book tickets online anywhere before we go?
Or could we book some where in Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles and make our own way there?
Also does anyone know roughly how much a taxi would cost to get there?

you can email them on siouxcity@telefonica.net, call 0034928762982. but there are loads of places that do a "ticket only" for the daytime. It isnt quite as good as the night show, it is based on the main street rather than in the little arena, however it is alot cheaper!

Depends what you want from a holiday I suppose, but 'Free' drinks is to be taken with a large pinch of salt considering the cost of the excursion and the fact that the food is pretty poor. Not a bad show, but don't expect to get a good deal for your money.

Thanks for your replys. As i said we have been before but thought it could be cheaper booking
by our selfs (and we have booked flights, accommodation and transfers all Separate so no reps)
My main concern is the transport there ie the cost of a taxi etc.
Went to the Friday night before and we did enjoy it but booking through the reps and going by their coach i felt you spent ages travelling because of all the pick ups.
My 12yr old son wants to go back and said he wants to try going during the day but if the shows are not as good i might have to try booking the Friday night one.
Any help on taxi prices or other ways of getting there would be a great help.
Thanks
