Prettypollycat,
In Premium, sitting together is included, but you still have to pay for 'your seat, your choice' - £6 per seat each way - well worth it I think, especially for long haul. Like HelenT I probably wouldn't bother for a short flight.

Looks as though Thomson are not charging for pre booking seats have a look at this from beastof.

Angie.
at just an additional £6 to choose specific seats, I'd probably pay that - but we don't tend to book Premium cabin with any carrier so I still don't think the cost of paying for 'seats together' then 'choose your seat' in standard cabin is worth it.
So if I'm reading the last few posts correctly, is seating together included with Premium seats with Thomas Cook? I booked my summer hol a few days ago flying Manchester to Cuba, and was charged £20pp for the 'your seat your choice' option where they told me I could choose my specific seats by ringing up the week or so before I am due to fly. The last few posts state that the specific seat choice is £6 each way, so I'm wondering if I've been charged something for sitting together as well?
Thanks
steph86,
Thanks Angie, I've now worked out that I've paid for 'your seat your choice' with TC, which lets me choose my own seats 7 days before hand, however I noticed in their brochure they also offer priority seating choice for £6 pp each way, where I can choose my seat 98 days before hand - not sure if I'm going to book this or not, feels like the costs are just mounting up but then again I don't want to risk every other couple having booked this priority seating and taking up all the sets of 2 seats next to the window. Decisions decisions!!
I know a neighbour of mine has just booked their seat numbers/rows the other day with TC and they dont go on holiday until June 2010, so figure that one out, everyone is told 6/8 weeks before departure your saying you read in their brochure 98 days before departure. No wonder why there are not many seats for passengers to choose on some flights if booking of pre-bookable seats can be done as soon as you have a booking reference.
Angie.
hi all, i have today booked 2 seats your seat, your choice for premium cabin departing 14th march2010, so you can book as far ahead as you like, the girl on the phone told me that half the premium cabin had already been booked up and we managed to get one of the last few remaining 2 seats together by the window on row 5, the majority of the seats left available were in the middle, so book asap!
Emmacat is that with TC or TOM
hi, sorry abouth the late reply, been away, we are booked with thomas cook, never flown with them before and so far all is going well, it's nice to be able to book things like this so far in advance rather than having to wait til 6 weeks before the flight as we had to do with thomson last year. i do t5hink that really though, they should wave the £6 per person per leg fee for premium cabin bookings, it's an extra £24 on top of the few hundred quid extra for the premium service in the first place-but then i guess its a small price to pay to avoid sitting in the middle with someone elses family members for 11 hours...
We have booked Premium Upgrade with TC for next year, along with "Your Seat Your Choice". Would I be right in assuming that the £6 per person for actual seat numbers is on top of "Your Seat Your Choice"?
Also, would be very grateful if you could let me have the contact number to book my seat numbers (the sooner the better by the sounds of it!!)
Regards,
Pat
Your seat, your choice is selection of your seat. If this is showing as included, then you don't need to pay the extra. What I suspect you have is pre-booked seating together, so select your seat charges if you wish to select your seat numbers will be payable. Details of how to book seats are on Thomas Cooks website.
Darren
Yes, that's what I assumed. Although we have booked Premium and the seats together are included, we will have to pay an extra £6 per person for actual seat numbers.
After reading a couple of posts on here whereby people have already booked their seat numbers for travel next June, I decided to to try and book our last night. We are not travelling until 1st August, but upon entering our flight number, the TC system showed up "incorrect flight number". Perhaps thought that our flight number isn't showing up on their system yet as it maybe too early, any ideas??
Many thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat ... I personally don't know about it perhaps being too early, but I know some members have previously had the "incorrect flight number" message on the Thomas Cook website because a digit had inadvertently been omitted. For example, a flight number which may be shown on the itinerary as TCX95K should be entered on the website as TCX095K, as a zero is required after the TCX.
David
Thanks David, will give that a go and see what happens.
Just to say that placing the "zero" in front of our flight number let me gain access in the seat option. Unfortunately, according to what is showing on their seat plan all the Premium Seat numbers have already been booked, even though we are not actually flying out until 1st August next year which, somehow, doesn't ring true to me!!
Will phone the airline tomorrow, who hopefully will shed more light.
Thanks again,
Pat
We decided in the end to pay an extra £240 for 10 of us to be sat near to each other. I didn't like the thought of my children possibly being sat right at the other end of the plane and not knowing who they might be sat next to. I know it's a gamble whether you get to the check out early or not where you'll be sitting, but I'd rather pay the money and have piece of mind than starting my holiday stressed out if we can't be together.
I think you might be in the same situation as me, having been charged £20pp for "your seat your choice" - they sold me that when I booked and said I could only pick my seat 7 days before departure. I'd heard from other people they only paid £12pp and booked seats months in advance so was a bit worried we'd get separated seats, after several useless phonecalls to TC customer service I rang TC Airlines who said I was sold the wrong product. So I've now got the £20pp refunded and just paid £12pp to choose seats 3H/J, have my email confirmation and everything.
I'm currently trying to complain to TC as there are bound to be lots of people in the same situation who haven't realised, and are paying too much for the wrong seating option - one helpful cust service person did say that the seating together/your seat you choice had recently been changed/merged so I think that may be where the problem lies.
i had booked the rows of 2 at the back, with my husband sat in front,of me & the grandaughter.that way,we both had a window seat & i didn't have anyone reclining on me.a big pet hate of mine!
i informed them,we had paid for our seats & produced the e mail,at which point,he informed us,they were already gone.he tried to give us alternatives, which weren't acceptable,as window seats & nobody reclining,on a long flight are important to us,which is why we were willing to pay.after about 15-20 mins,we were allocated our original seats, which resulted in 2 couples being called to the boarding gate & being informed, they were having to change seats, which was then inconvenient to them.
so please keep the e mail, confirming your seat numbers,as i nearly thrown mine away, when i was clearing the flight bag out, ready to come home.
other than that, the flight was on time, both ways, which is always good,
tracy
I heard from a few other passengers on my flight about the check-in staff at Cancun saying they would be sat at opposite ends of the plane unless they paid extra to be seated together, but miraculously most ended up next to each other without having to fork out more money.
